Before the Easter conference, the South Sudan chapter held two days of fasting and prayer, amid growing concerns over local insecurity caused by ongoing conflict between rival military factions. One day during preparation, the messengers were forced to stop and reschedule their Bible study due to this conflict, and the messengers were unable to start drafting their messages on time. However, by God's grace, the conference proceeded without interruption.
The opening message, based on Philippians 3:10–11, emphasized participation in Jesus’ suffering and resurrection. The following messages focused on Jesus’ trials and the importance of forgiveness, especially in a society marred by tribalism and violence in South Sudan. Because of this, it is rare to find peace and love for one another. This message about Jesus’ love and forgiveness convicted South Sudan UBF to be a light by forgiving each other, even their enemies. Attendees also shared personal testimonies, a testament to the healing and transformation of the forgiveness of Christ. Our South Sudan brothers and sisters pray that South Sudan will change into a nation of peace, a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.
Easter Sunday was a celebration of the resurrection of Jesus, and Dr. Elia shared a message on Luke 24:1–14. He shared personal struggles, including fears surrounding his family, but powerfully testified to God’s blessings and the hope found in Christ.
The conference concluded with gratitude for the work of the Holy Spirit and a renewed commitment to ministry, including reaching 100 lost souls with Bible studies and for more Christ-centered families by the year 2032. Prayer topics also include being witnesses of Jesus' forgiveness through the power of His resurrection and overcoming spiritual laziness with hope and perseverance.
