From August 8–10, the Japan National Summer Conference was held at YMCA Tozanso with the theme, “Life.” Japan continued to experience extreme heat exceeding 40 degrees celsius, but the conference venue was cool and comfortable.
As stated in the purpose of the Gospel of John, we sought to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, the Christ, and to receive life through His name. We deeply thank God for answering our prayers and for the support from our beloved brothers and sisters around the world in UBF. 140 people from 15 chapters in Japan attended (including 14 youth and children, and 8 online participants). Through the Word of God, prayer, praise, workshops, baptism, and communion service, they received great grace. We were able to fellowship with God, share love with one another in the Lord, receive life, and renew our faith.

Mana N. (John 4), Missionary John K. (John 19), and Minjae M. (John 20) delivered life-giving and heartmoving messages. As life testimony speakers, Missionary Sunkyu K., brother Sion K., sister Kinyo M., Missionary Pauline C., and Missionary David J. testified to the love and grace of God, who saved, helped, and guided them when they were in sin, darkness, failure, and despair.
For the first time, we added a time for “fellowship with God, fellowship with people” on the first day. During this time, all the participants prayed earnestly with one heart. Also, while doing the workshop on the theme of “Life,” we pictured how, by receiving life from Jesus, our negative self is transformed into a positive, life-giving self. Furthermore, we prayed together while picturing our future selves growing in faith.

On the second day, we invited a street artist who proclaims the gospel and watched a performance under the theme of “Life,” receiving fresh inspiration and grace. At the following World Mission Night, Missionary Peter L. presented a mission report on his mission to the United States. In addition, the praise prepared by Missionary Joshua Lee, a senior ministry leader of Japan UBF, together with the young people, brought great encouragement. Afterwards, we had communion, and brother Toshiya O. and sister Mina O. of Tokoha UBF were baptized. Through their confession of Jesus Christ as Savior and their beginning of a new life by faith, all the participants were encouraged and moved in the Spirit.

At the end of the third day, we had so much joy watching the well-prepared performance and choir by our CBF and JBF ministries. We praise the living God for bringing more people than we expected and for helping and blessing every program so that we could abundantly receive life in Jesus and renew our faith. We deeply thank all those around the world who prayed for the conference. We pray that God will pour out His life and grace even more abundantly upon all of you.
