(LATIN AMERICA) 2026 Latin America Directors Conference: Expanding God’s Kingdom Through The Word of God and Disciple-making

From January 23 to 25, 2026, the Latin America Chapter Directors and Leaders New Year Conference was held in Santiago, Chile. Approximately 70 chapter directors and leaders from across Latin America gathered to receive God’s spiritual direction and vision for the new year through the Word of God and prayer.

This conference was not merely an annual meeting. It became a spiritual turning point in which we reflected on the missionary journey of 2025, discerned God’s will for 2026, and realigned ourselves toward Word-centered, love-centered, and prayer-centered disciple-making ministry.

During the conference, God led us with clear spiritual clarity through three main messages and a closing message.

The message, “Train Yourself for Godliness” from 1 Timothy 4, the new commandment “Love One Another” from John 13, the exhortation “Always Pray and Do Not Give Up” from Luke 18, and the closing message from 1 Corinthians 4, “We Have Become the Scum of the World,” were not separate themes. Together they created one coherent spiritual direction: personal training in godliness, expressed through Jesus’ love, sustained by persevering prayer, and ultimately embodied in a cross-centered life of sacrificial service and disciple-making.

Enrique delivered the message “Train Yourself for Godliness” and shared powerful evidence that godliness is not an abstract concept but practical obedience that transforms the structure of one’s life. Pastor Ron Ward preached deeply on John 13, explaining the meaning of the new commandment—why it is “new,” why and how we can obey it, and what spiritual impact loving one another produces. It became a time of grace in which the love of Jesus was freshly engraved on every participants’ heart. Danny delivered the message from Luke 18, testifying that God surely hears and answers the prayers of His chosen ones. He exhorted us to live lives of continual prayer and obedience to the new commandment. To conclude the conference, Spurgeon delivered the message “We Have Become the Scum of the World,” reminding us that although we are royal priests and heirs of the Kingdom of God, on this earth, we must follow the way of the cross of Jesus, living lives of loving and serving to the end.

On the evening of the first day, the Mexico CU Chapter and Argentina La Plata Chapter shared their 2025 mission reports. Despite difficult circumstances, both chapters held firmly to the Word and prayer and served each person faithfully. As a result, they testified to God’s work in gospel proclamation and disciple-making. Through these reports, participants were reminded that faithfulness is more important than numbers, relationships more important than programs, and the Word more important than strategy.

Following this, activity reports were presented by the Korean Missionary Training Committee, the Next Generation Education Committee, and the Latin Leader School, as we reviewed continental cooperation for raising the next generation and developing indigenous leadership.

On the evening of the second day, missionaries Noah Jung, Isaac Park, and Sarah Chang shared materials for the Latin America mission strategy seminar that will be presented at the Korea Mission Conference. Together we prayed over the current situation and future direction of Latin American missions. Missionary Joe Steven also shared Bolivia case studies under the theme “How to Raise Servants of the Word,” clearly demonstrating how Word-centered training and patient disciple-making bear fruit in real ministry contexts.
During the conference, the chapter directors’ meeting resulted in two important decisions. Missionary Joshua Jun of Chile was elected as the next Continental Coordinator, and it was decided that the 2027 Latin America New Year Conference will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Through this conference, all participants were sent back to their respective mission fields with renewed commitment to hold firmly to Jesus’ new commandment, to practice serving love towards their Bible students and coworkers, and to devote themselves afresh to the essential mission of raising disciples through the Word and prayer.

Though the Chile chapter is small, consisting of only five families, we are deeply grateful to our coworkers of Chile who faithfully served the conference and all participants with sincere love, prayer, and dedication.

We pray that throughout 2026, all Latin America chapters will please God, become one in the love of Jesus, and be used for the expansion of God’s Kingdom through Word-centered disciple-making ministry.
