Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Thanks be to God for his great faithfulness and blessings. Now, after finishing the North American Staff Conference (NASC) last week, the “new year season” in UBF has come to a close.

North America Staff Conference
Over the last three months, I delivered the new year’s message, “Love One Another,” 10 times across six continents, accompanied by my wife, Dervilla. Many Korean staff members, as well as HQ staff, also participated. They shared edifying and inspiring messages and special lectures. Thank God for humble and sacrificial brothers and sisters on each continent, who hosted these conferences. I sincerely thank all of you who have prayed. God is answering. There is a spirit of unity and revival among us, and the love of God is growing. In many places, a new generation of young leaders is arising. We were especially encouraged that the first ever CIS Second Gen Conference is being held this week. At the same time, some coworkers suffer unbearably. Yet, in the time of suffering, their faith is growing. For example, shepherdesses in the Middle East are overcoming trials and growing as mothers of prayer for their region.
Missionaries and leaders in the Middle East have kept in touch with us during the past week. They shared their reality—many bombs are falling every day. They hear the thunderous sounds and feel the earth shake. But they trust in God’s perfect provision and protection. They sleep well at night and pray for opportunities to share the gospel even in that difficult time. Their faith shines like the stars in the night sky. Please join me in prayer for their protection and powerful witness, and for peace in the Middle East.
We are grateful for the prayer support of Pastor Nehemiah, Mi-sook Kim, and Sh. Caleb Kim and James Lee from Korea, who attended the NASC. As they returned to Korea this week, we continued to pray for the World Mission Congress. May God speak to us through the message and testimonies, and call a new generation of Korean young people as short-term and long-term missionaries. May God bless Korea to be used even more in the future than it has been in the past.
Here in North America, we are also praying for the Young Adults Conference (NAYAC) to be held May 29 - June 1. The messengers are well chosen and are preparing prayerfully and diligently. They met during the staff conference for rehearsal with mentors. The program focuses on who Jesus is and includes plenty of fellowship time and fun. It is going to be a historical event. It is a golden opportunity for young North Americans to meet Christ and find his great salvation and spiritual direction for their lives. Please join me in prayer for robust attendance and the great work of the Holy Spirit through the words of God. Please pray for the young people in your chapter to participate and share in God’s blessing.
