Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
Thanks be to God for Missionary Joshua Myeong. After coming to Germany in 2006, he served in Heidelberg and throughout Germany. On Thursday, February 19, 2026, our Lord called him home to eternal rest and glory. Heidelberg UBF Director, Sh. Reiner Schauwienold wrote this:
“Last night, our beloved brother Missionary Joshua Myeong passed away. Since coming to Germany in 2006, he served for 20 years in Heidelberg and throughout Germany, praying and working by faith in Jesus for the salvation of young people. In 2022, he was diagnosed with ALS. After more than a year of being unable to speak, he eventually became immobile. Yet even in such great suffering, he firmly kept his faith in God and in our Lord Jesus and placed his hope in Him. I am confident that the God who raised Jesus from the dead will also raise our brother and grant him eternal rest and comfort. Please pray for Sister Gloria and Lukas, Philip, and Titus. Pray that God may comfort them and help them experience Him as their heavenly Father.”

Yes, let’s remember this great man of God and pray for his family. May our Lord grant the comfort that only he can give to Missionary Gloria, Lukas, Philip and Titus. May he fill them with resurrection faith and the hope of glory in Christ. May he raise these precious young men as spiritual leaders for Germany and the world. Surely Missionary Joshua’s life is a seed that fell to the ground and died and will produce many seeds. Thank God for his life.
Missionaries and leaders throughout Europe have suffered much since the UBF ministry began there in 1969. They have also experienced many great victories in Christ. The European leaders have united with a new spirit and new vision for spiritual revival in Europe. We saw great evidence of this through God’s blessing on the ESBC 2024. Growing evidence was clear during the European Directors Conference in Croatia, from February 5-7, 2026.
The director of Croatia UBF, the host chapter, is Missionary Joseph Bae. He delivered a powerful message, focusing on Genesis 15:5, “Look up at the sky and count the stars….” He sounded like Father Abraham. After being in Croatia for many years, a time of testing came from the Lord. From a human point of view, Joseph’s situation seemed as though he lost many things and there were little prospects for the future. But at that time, the Lord spoke to him to look up at the sky and count the stars. The Lord gave him a word of promise that his offspring would be like the stars in the sky. Armed with this faith, he became a bold and powerful witness of Christ who could remain in Croatia and claim the nation as his promised land where God would bless all peoples through him. He reflected the faith of so many UBF leaders in Europe. Bearing with cultural barriers and prejudice has been hard. Not seeing many European natives coming to Bible study has been hard. Sometimes the future does not seem so bright. But when they look up to God, they see the amazing harvest of souls that the Lord will bring about. They see God’s vision for the spiritual revival of Europe and her transformation into a great missionary sending continent once again. The faith of all European leaders is pure and remarkable. Each one is like a bright star shining in the night sky.
After using Reiner Schauwienold as a faithful leader of Germany UBF for eight years and over European ministries for four years, God raised new leaders to succeed him. Missionary Hannah Shin is the new European Coordinator and Knut Rohrmoser and Missionary David Yun are Co-Coordinators for Germany. These new leaders are people of humble prayer. They depend on God and see the vision for the spiritual revival of Europe and of Germany. The time has come! Let’s join them in their prayer.
