(EUROPE) The European National Coordinators' Conference Took Place in Lisbon, Portugal from January 30th - February 1st

Event Category: Report of the European Coordinators’ Conference

Date: January 30th- February 1st, 2025

Location: Lisban, Portugal

Total Participants: 54 attendants

We thank God for blessing the European Coordinators’ Conference abundantly. The coworkers in Portugal prepared a very good environment in a hotel in Lisbon, only 10 minutes from the airport. Almost all national coordinators attended, and there were 54 attendants, including P. Ron and Dervilla Ward and P. Henry Park from the US and P. John and Deborah Kim from Korea. Eight new generation coworkers from Portugal, Austria, Denmark, Bulgaria, and Spain attended and supported with worship and translation. On the first evening, M. Matthew S*ingh (the coordinator of Portugal) delivered a graceful opening message on John 4:35. He encouraged us to lift our eyes and look at the mission fields in Europe and see that they are ripe for harvest. Afterward, B*runo A*ussant from France presented the survey results about the ESBC 2024 and reminded us of God’s great work through that conference among the young people which gives us a vision for his further ministry in Europe.

On the second day, we had group Bible study on 1 Peter 1:1-9, and P. Ron delivered a very powerful and graceful message, proclaiming the living hope in our eternal inheritance that God has given each of us with our new birth through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. Europe is undergoing a time of economic, social and political crisis. But most of all, Europe is suffering from a spiritual crisis. Most of the young people have no hope for their lives and future. They need the living hope in God and his eternal kingdom. P. Ron admonished us to hold on to the living hope and live by it in all circumstances and to share it with the young people. In the afternoon, we all wrote our personal testimonies and shared them in groups. In the evening, six coworkers shared graceful testimonies in front of all. Then Henry P*ark gave an insightful “Talk on Marriage”, which broadened our view on biblical marriage and encouraged us to pray more that many more young people may establish families and house churches according to God’s will in Europe.

On Saturday, we had a workshop on discipleship led by J*ames Woo*d, in which he encouraged us to think about out our own discipleship and how we can help young people to grow as disciples of Jesus from a new perspective. We saw presentations about the new European Disciple Fellowship and about the preparation of the Encounter Conference 2025 and prayed for these programs for young people. We also saw the video about LAIBC 2025 in April, encouraged coworkers to attend it, and prayed for the conference wholeheartedly. We closed with a coordinators’ meeting. I thank God for blessing the Coordinators’ Conference with his words and spirit. May God help us live with hope and serve his disciple-making ministry in 2025, every day faithfully!
