Riga UBF held a Christmas worship service on December 21 under the title “They Will Call Him Immanuel” (Matthew 1:18–25). A total of 21 people attended the service, including sisters Eliza, Victoria, Angelika, and Sophia, who have been faithfully attending worship services. Missionary Esther Kim actively invited students who study Korean at the Riga Sejong Institute, and eight students attended the service, including brother Maksim from the intermediate class. Missionary Andreana also invited sister Nina, whom she had taught at the Sejong Institute, along with Nina’s friend. Under the guidance of sister Eliza, we prepared for worship with Christmas hymns such as “Silent Night, Holy Night” and “Joy to the World.” We also offered a special song, “Lord of Love,” which was prepared over several weeks. Sister Sophia, who has been faithfully attending Sunday worship since November, participated diligently, and the special song team glorified God with a beautiful performance.

The Christmas message was delivered by Missionary Timothy Kang under the theme “The God of Immanuel.” The message proclaimed God’s love through Jesus Christ, who came to save sinners and be with us. After the message, Samuel Kang shared his testimony, explaining how the passing of his younger sibling earlier this year became a turning point that led him to faith in the God of hope. He is now growing as a second-generation missionary with sincere faith.

In the second part of the program, we shared fellowship over Korean food prepared by the missionaries. Many first-time attendees enjoyed the joy of Christmas, and we pray that the gospel sown among them may bear fruit and that Riga UBF may continue to be used in the gospel work in Latvia.
