On September 19, 2026, Toledo UBF celebrated its 50th anniversary with the theme, “God’s Faithfulness Endures for All Generations,” based on Psalm 119:90. Members, former members, coworkers, friends, and families gathered to remember and give thanks for God’s work in Toledo since 1976. The program traced God’s work through six periods of Toledo UBF history, with historical readings and representative testimonies from those who had participated in the ministry through the years. We were especially thankful that many who had moved away or served God elsewhere returned to testify personally to the grace they had received through Toledo UBF. The celebration also included praise and worship, special music, prayer, fellowship over dinner, and the presentation of an Ebenezer stone based on 1 Samuel 7:12: “Thus far the LORD has helped us.”
As we looked back over these 50 years, we were deeply moved by God’s faithfulness from generation to generation. People have come and gone, leaders and missionaries have changed, and many seasons of ministry have passed, but God has faithfully continued his work. One particularly meaningful part of the anniversary was our “history hall,” where the church was filled with pictures remembering people and events from the past 50 years. For seven years, we have hoped and prayed to see something like this—not simply for those of us who remember the past, but especially for our children and the next generation of disciples, so that they may know that “Your faithfulness continues through all generations” (Ps 119:90a). Finally, the Ebenezer stone placed outside our church became a tangible testimony of the truth we celebrated together: “Thus far the LORD has helped us.” We thank God for establishing and sustaining Toledo UBF for 50 years, and we pray that the next generation may remember his faithfulness, love Jesus and one another, and carry the gospel forward for generations to come.
