Title: “Let Your Light Shine” (Matthew 5:16)

At the conference, we studied Matthew 5:1-16, “Let Your Light Shine,” preached by Ataiena, and Luke 9:18-27, “If Anyone Wants to Come After Me,” presented by Noé Jeong. They taught us the secret to a blessed life through living as disciples of Jesus and growing in the image of Christ by embodying the “salt and light” as commanded by the Lord.

Living such a blessed life is possible when we know Jesus, the Messiah, and follow Him as His disciples—denying ourselves the temptations of the world and taking up our crosses daily, as Jesus commanded (Matthew 16:24-26).

Ataiena shared her testimony of a blessed life in Jesus. When she was young, she struggled to understand true happiness due to the absence of her biological father and experiences of financial hardship. However, through Bible studies in John 4, John 8, and John 21, she came to know Jesus, and her life was transformed by His light. Later, God blessed her with a marriage to missionary Nathan, and they raised four children together. She also became a powerful gospel witness to a Bible student.

During this conference, we also concluded the theme of Discipleship 2024, which we have been planning since last May, alongside our study of the book of Daniel and the twelve-step foundational Bible series. Lebeca, João, and Isabel, who completed the discipleship program, received their certificates and were baptized after sharing their testimonies. We pray that these three brothers may continue to grow as Jesus' disciples and be witnesses of the gospel to many Brazilian souls.
