1 Peter 1:25, “But the word of the Lord remains forever.”
On October 3, our annual Founders Day celebration was held at Chicago UBF with the theme “Bible Reading Project.” The celebration began with representative prayers from Joseph Lee Jr. (NJ), Mary Yoon (U of C), and Abraham Hwang (Mexico), followed by a fun and meaningful special song by the children, led by Tim McEathron.
Pastor Ron delivered the opening address on the theme “The Word of the Lord Remains Forever,” based on 1 Peter 1:24–25. Missionary John Kim from France gave a presentation on 1 Corinthians 3:6–7, “God Makes Things Grow.”
Seven young second-generation missionaries and students shared their testimonies: Sarah (Philadelphia), James (Canada), Aurora (Mexico), Chanwoo (Korea), Pauline (Denmark), Barnabas (Russia), and Mpho (South Africa). They testified to the transformative power of the word of God through Bible reading in their personal lives. We could see the amazing work of God in the next generation. During the program, our high school and college students performed a special song, “Thy Word / Wonderful Words of Life.”
Pastor Mark called on all of us to rededicate ourselves to reading, studying, and obeying His eternal word. We continue to pray for young people worldwide to experience the life-changing power of God’s word and become spiritual leaders. The program concluded with a prayer by Pastor Abraham Kim.
Last year, there were many empty seats. This year, Pastor Mark suggested sending invitation videos and personal emails to young people, and the sanctuary was filled to capacity. We give all thanks and praise to God. We pray that the online Bible Reading Project may spread to all UBF chapters and bring a spiritual revival among young people throughout the world.
