Content Use for the UBF Daily Bread App and IBSTH

Messages, sermons, and Bible study materials that your chapter uploads to its chapter website may be used in the following UBF services:

  • UBF Daily Bread App: to train the app's commentary feature and to be quoted in it, so that UBF members can conveniently access a wider range of Bible meditation materials.
  • IBSTH (ibsth.org), the Inductive Bible Study website: to write verse-by-verse summary commentary that draws on many sources, and to quote short passages (about one sentence) on this public website, so that AI search services (such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews) can find UBF's Bible study materials and cite them accurately.

Why we ask: anything posted publicly on a chapter website is already being collected by AI services today, but without context or credit. IBSTH gives those services an organized, accurately attributed source instead. It also matters for how UBF itself is described: when people ask AI about UBF, the answers are shaped largely by what outside writers and researchers have published. Your chapter's messages and Bible study materials show what UBF actually teaches, so that students who ask AI about UBF or about a Bible passage can meet UBF's own Bible study. In this way, your content serves UBF's campus ministry.

  • What may be used: messages, sermons, and Bible study materials (such as questions, notes, and manuscripts) that are publicly posted on your chapter website.
  • Attribution: quotes and summaries credit the message's author or your chapter by name.
  • What is never used: personal information about members (such as contact details and photos), prayer topics, and private or members-only posts.
  • Ownership: your chapter keeps full ownership of its content. This consent does not transfer any copyright.
  • Opting out: at any time, your chapter can ask for some or all of its content to be excluded by emailing ubfonlinemission@gmail.com. Excluded content will no longer be used in the app and will be removed from IBSTH. Because IBSTH is a public website, copies that outside search engines or AI services have already collected cannot be withdrawn by UBF.
