Our Chicago UBF community shared a beautiful, Spirit-filled milestone on Saturday afternoon, June 13, as we witnessed the wedding of Victor Rakotondranoro and Abigail Daman. The joyful ceremony took place at Abigail’s family’s church in Crystal Lake, Illinois, with many of our members in attendance to celebrate their union.
Pastor Mark Vucekovich officiated the ceremony, delivering an encouraging message based on 1 John 4:7-12, focusing on the depth of God's love.
A Beautiful Foundation in Ministry
Victor and Abigail hold a special place in our hearts as the very first young couple from our Loyola University ministry to marry. Both have been pillars of faith and service throughout their college years until now:
Abigail has been active in church life since her youth. From the very start of her freshman year at Loyola, she joined our campus student group, “Unbounded”, faithfully participating and inviting fellow students to worship services.
Victor joined the Loyola Bible club seven years ago, where he met Christ and grew deeply in his faith. After completing both his undergraduate and master’s degrees at Loyola, he went on to serve as a Chicago UBF intern, a vital member of our HQ media team, and a messenger for our Fall student retreats and most recent united Christmas service. After courting for over a year—anchored in shared prayer and Scripture reading—the couple was engaged in February. Throughout their preparation, they were lovingly mentored for marriage by Pastor Mark and Kathy.
Their Marriage Key Verse
"Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross."
Philippians 2:5-8
Abigail and Victor chose this passage as their marriage key verses, desiring to learn the true humility of Christ. Their vision is to serve one another and those around them with the unconditional love of God.
Looking Ahead & Prayer Topics
The couple’s parents expressed immense gratitude for our ministry, and we are thrilled that Victor and Abigail will continue to live out their mission right here, serving our Loyola and Chicago UBF communities together.
Please join us in surrounding this new family with love and lifting them up in prayer:
1. For Spiritual Growth: That they may continuously grow together as a servant family.
2. For Impact: That they will be equipped as spiritual leaders for the world, fulfilling their heart's desire to lead many people to Jesus.
Congratulations, Victor and Abigail! May God richly bless your new home and ministry.
