The 37th English Online Forum focused on UBF’s publication ministry, and specifically on UBF Press. God has done mighty work among us in UBF over the last 65 years. The stories of what God has done form a spiritual legacy, which is in some ways unique in church history. Most UBF members are already trained writers through faithful testimony writing, message writing, and Daily Bread writing. So it is mainly a matter of making a decision to publish God’s work. In today’s forum, I shared a short message on the meaning of publication ministry. Dr. Mark Yang gave a moving presentation of the necessity, vision, and purpose of the publication ministry. And Dr. Charles Kim presented the history and current status of UBF Press. If you missed this forum, please visit ubf.org and view the recording. I hope that it may inspire you to write about and publish what God has done in and through you. Please pray that many leaders, especially full-time staff, may publish outstanding messages and significant books for the glory of God, and that many seniors may publish their autobiographies for the glory of God before going to heaven.
We give thanks to God for renewing our prayer to raise full-time leaders and staff in our ministry. To be sure, UBF is a self-supporting movement. Nearly all of our members identify as self-supporting. However, historically, the role of full-time staff has been instrumental, like the ministry of the Levites in Israel. So we pray for the raising of some full-time staff members, according to the Holy Spirit’s leading, who can succeed the current senior staff members. God is answering. On August 1, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chicago center, two full-time pastors will be ordained: David Won and Moody Salah. Both have been examined in regard to their calling, character, family life, ministry experience, education, and evident fruitfulness. Both are committed to serving the Lord full-time for the rest of their lives, as the Lord enables them. Both are well respected in the Chicago community and in Chicago Headquarters. Please join us in prayer for them.
The faith of our coworkers in Venezuela is shining like a bright star in the night sky. They celebrated the life of Marisol with resurrection faith. Though they shed tears for her departure, they are filled with living hope in the kingdom of God. And they are seeking to share the love of Christ and real hope in God with the people of Venezuela. They used relief money sent from headquarters, Korea UBF, and Latin America to buy water, food, medicine, and other supplies and deliver them to those who are suffering. They did this in Jesus’ name. Additionally, nearly $40,000 has been collected from personal donations and chapter donations worldwide. It will be sent to them in the most prudent and expedient manner. They are preparing a summer Bible conference for August 6–9, titled “Created for Purpose,” based on Ephesians 2:10. The messengers are Franklin R, Kennier B, Martha G, Hirely M, Samantha R, Maria V, Ellana P, and Jose V. I plan to attend this conference with Dervilla and Pastor Juan Seo and give the closing message. Please pray for God’s word to overflow to the attendants as a source of blessing to all of Venezuela. May many Venezuelan people come to Jesus, find God’s purpose, and live a most meaningful life. May God raise Venezuela as a great missionary-sending country for his glory.
