The Risen Christ told his disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (Mt 28:18-20). After being filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus’ disciples went out and obeyed this command. They were used to transform the world. We have often been inspired by how the Lord used Paul and Peter. I have also found inspiration in how the Lord worked through some of the lesser-known of his disciples. According to church history, Bartholomew went to Armenia. He preached the gospel, and signs of the Holy Spirit’s power accompanied him. Seeds of the gospel were planted, and many began to believe in Jesus. Eventually, Bartholomew was martyred. Within 250 years, Armenia became the first nation to identify as a Christian nation. A church was born that has continued to this day.
In the same way, the worldwide ministry of UBF originated in Christ as Korean missionaries heard his words and obeyed. They went into all the world to make disciples. Korean UBF began in a time of great political turmoil. Early UBF leaders resisted the temptation to become political activists and instead obeyed Jesus’ words. The impact of their obedience has transformed the world. Now, as we see the great political upheaval in Korea today, let’s listen to Jesus’ words. His message is the same to us: “Go…and make disciples of all nations….” Let’s remember how God has worked in the past. As we obey Jesus’ words, we can experience his great and holy power and presence that brings salvation to lost souls. Let’s preach the gospel and make disciples of Jesus in all nations!
God has heard our prayers for the preparation for the Latin American conference. When we began to pray for 650 attendants, it seemed very challenging. Yet, by the power of God, more than 670 people have registered. The messengers are preparing with all their hearts and much prayer. I believe the Holy Spirit will be poured out on this conference, the endless love of Jesus will overflow, and many will receive forgiveness, healing, and new hope in Jesus. Let’s pray that God’s new vision for the next 50 years of ministry may inspire a new generation of Jesus’ followers to carry out Jesus’ great world mission task. Latin American UBF leaders pray to reach all nations in their continent. There are 16 nations that have no UBF disciple-raising ministry. They pray to finish the task of reaching all of them, starting with Cuba, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago, and Puerto Rico by 2030 and all English-speaking Caribbean countries by 2035.
P. Nehemiah Kim and the Korea UBF leaders are praying for the World Mission Report in 2026. They see a new generation of spiritual leaders growing among them. May God bless the World Mission Report 2026 to be a landmark event in using Korea once again as a great missionary-sending nation for the next generation.
