(SOUTH SUDAN) "Don't Be Alarmed": South Sudan Easter Bible Conference

By Padiet Deng

The 2026 South Sudan UBF Easter Bible Conference took place from April 3-5, with around 60 participants. Preparation involved prayer and fasting every Saturday for four weeks prior to the event. The South Sudan UBF Bible House hosted daytime sessions because there was not enough space to accommodate everyone overnight.

Padiet Deng opened the conference with a message from Isaiah 42:16, followed by the main messages on Jesus’ crucifixion and resurrection delivered by Sabino Akol, Regina Michael, and Philip Angelo.

Attendees shared testimonies and participated in group Bible studies, recognizing their sins and the transformative power of Jesus' death and resurrection. Four new students from Rumbek University attended, and thirteen new participants joined the conference. The children’s Bible Fellowship (CBF) also participated through Bible quizzes and scripture memorization.

Prayer Topics:

1. May the death and resurrection of Jesus transform our lives so that we may become His witnesses in our daily lives, leading South Sudan to become a kingdom of priests and a holy nation.
2. Completion of the pioneering work at Rumbek University and raising the four young students as people of faith.
3. Expansion of the Bible Center to accommodate the growing number of members, including CBF.
4, That South Sudan UBF may continue raising new and young leaders as the future generation.
