“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.”

Thanks and praise to God for blessing the Korea UBF New Year Staff Conference with the theme, “Love One Another.” The powerful work of the Holy Spirit was evident during the messages, testimonies and reports. Pastor Nehemiah Kim (Korea UBF Director) shared a visionary opening message on Isaiah 54, “Enlarge the place of your tents.” Sh. Joshua Kim (SNU 7 Shepherd) shared a joyful and meaningful message on 1 Timothy 4, emphasizing Paul’s words “devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.” I shared the New Year’s message on John 13:34, “Love one another” with the help and power of the Holy Spirit. Sh. Gospel Joo (Baebong Shepherd) shared a deep and heartmoving message on Luke 18, proclaiming Jesus’ words to “always pray and not give up.” From North America, Dr. Ezra Cho (Washington) and Sh. Ben West (Minneapolis) shared inspiring testimonies. Dr. Jose and Maria Ahn attended as prayer servants. We learned many things from the Korean staff, especially deep Bible study and earnest united prayer for the spiritual revival of Korea, world mission and especially the World Mission Congress 2026. Let’s join them in prayer: May 1,000 people hear God’s call to mission and respond with obedient faith.

While in Korea, I met many heroes of faith and dynamic spiritual leaders whom God is using to bring the life-giving word of God to Korea and the world. I had the special blessing of meeting the brothers and sisters in the SNU 7 chapter, and sharing the Sunday message with them the day before the staff conference. SNU 7 chapter members love one another in the midst of unbearable hardships. Earlier this year young David Park, the beloved only son of Sh. Abraham Park, suddenly became ill and died at the age of 18. Who can understand the pain of such a loss? Yet the family members, surrounded by the love of their chapter members, are holding the living hope of the kingdom of God. They are learning the depth and breadth of the love of God. Their genuine gospel faith really touched my heart. The love of all SNU 7 chapter members is evident and life-giving.

In Europe, Sh. Reiner Schauwienold’s term as coordinator is coming to an end. God has used him during the last four years to guide the European ministry through a difficult time of transition. He has been especially supportive in raising the new generation of leaders in Europe. We could see the glory of God rising in Europe during the ESBC 2024. I am personally thankful for his devotion to the European ministry in addition to serving as the coordinator for Germany, the leader of his chapter in Heidelberg, working full time and raising his family. Under the supervision of M. Joshua Lee (Belgium), the national leaders in Europe prayerfully held an election. M. Hannah Shin (Czech Republic) was nominated to be the new European coordinator. I confirmed her appointment with the prayer support of leaders in Korea UBF and Headquarters. She will be recognized officially at the upcoming European director’s conference. Please pray for her to serve the European ministry in a way that brings unity and spiritual revival throughout Europe.
