The theme of the 2026 Francophone SBC was “Jesus Is the Answer,” held from July 16–19, 2026, at John Abbott College in Montreal, Canada. This was the first Francophone Conference held in Canada, bringing together ministries from France (Paris, Nantes, Aix-en-Provence), Belgium (Brussels), Switzerland (Geneva, Bern), and Canada (Montreal, Sherbrooke). Other Canadian and American chapters also joined in support of the Francophone mission.
A planning team of senior and younger members from each Francophone nation, led by Paul H. (Paris), prayerfully chose the theme. The conference focused on four essential questions: Why do we need God? Why believe in Jesus? Why do we suffer? Why do we hope in Jesus?

The first message, “God Saves What Was Lost” (Luke 15), was delivered by Philip Wong (Montreal). It answered the question, “Why do we need God?” Sin separates us from God and leaves us lost, but Jesus came to seek and save the lost through His sacrificial love. David Jumeau (Montreal) shared the second message, “You Have the Words of Eternal Life” (John 6:68). Jesus is the answer because He alone satisfies our deepest spiritual needs. Through every trial, His Word remains our anchor. Timothée L. (Brussels), a second-generation disciple, delivered the third message from John 9, addressing suffering. Jesus is the Light of the World who reveals God’s glory even through hardship. Timothée shared how God has worked through his younger brother who lives with a disability, to become a blessing and even bring a friend to the conference from Belgium. Bruno Aussant (Paris) gave the final message from 1 Peter 1:3-4 on living hope in Jesus. In a generation searching for hope, Jesus’ resurrection gives a hope that never fades.
Six life testimonies were shared, five by young disciples, showing how Jesus transforms lives. Four workshops also encouraged participants in evangelism, prayer, spiritual growth, and finding rest in God.

The conference had three main prayer topics: First, that every participant would receive an answer from Jesus to their deepest questions. Although every personal struggle could not be addressed, everyone was encouraged to find the ultimate answer in Christ. Second, that the Francophone ministries would be united in God’s love. Through worship, prayer, fellowship, sports, and activities, God created unity among participants. Even challenges such as hot dorm rooms, catering difficulties, and a power outage could not diminish the joy and unity God provided. Third, that 120 participants would attend and receive God’s vision for Francophone ministry. Despite only 65 registrations one week before the deadline, God answered prayer and provided 121 participants by the final day.
God answered prayers for two people to receive visas to attend the conference and return to Switzerland. Many prayed, and through persistent efforts, God opened the way. God also protected a student from Brussels who accidentally left his backpack containing his passport at the airport. More than an hour later, the backpack was still safely there. For the opening drama of the Prodigal Son, God provided Laura to fill a missing role, allowing the Paris ministry’s performance to bless everyone.
The conference renewed our vision for the next generation. Half of the participants were youth and young adults, who actively served through messages, testimonies, worship, prayer, workshops, and activities. God is raising a new generation of disciples.
The conference also celebrated the sending of David and Connie Jumeau to Sherbrooke UBF after many faithful years of ministry in Montreal. We pray that God will bless their new mission to shepherd students at the University of Sherbrooke and Bishop’s University. As we look forward, we remember that more than 25 Francophone nations, especially 21 African nations, still need the Gospel. May God continue expanding the Francophone mission and raising shepherds and disciples for His kingdom.
After the conference, many guests visited Montreal, Mont-Tremblant, and Quebec City. This fellowship time reminded us of God’s work through history and strengthened our prayer that Jesus, the answer, would be proclaimed throughout all 29 Francophone nations.
