David proclaims that God is the Creator God. Everything on the earth -- the world, all who live in it, is His, because He established it on the water (2, Ge 1:9, 2 Pe 3:5).
David asks three questions: Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord and may stand in his holy place (3)? Who is this King of glory (8a)? Who is he, this King of glory (10a)?
The answers for these questions are in verses 4-7, 8b-9, and 10b. David found that the generation who seek him will receive vindication from God (5,6). And He is mighty, the King of glory. His name is the LORD (8b).
While praising the Creator God and His glory, David also found that He is knocking on the door of our hearts and coming in (7, 9), as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings (Lk 13:34). Thus, David concludes, “He is the King of glory (10c)”.
Prayer: Lord, I seek you. Please open our hearts and eyes. And You -- the King of glory-- may come in our hearts.
One Word: He is the King of glory
