Of David. A psalm.
1 The earth is the Lord’s,(A) and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it;(B)
2 for he founded it on the seas
and established it on the waters.(C)
3 Who may ascend the mountain(D) of the Lord?
Who may stand in his holy place?(E)
4 The one who has clean hands(F) and a pure heart,(G)
who does not trust in an idol(H)
or swear by a false god.[a]
5 They will receive blessing(I) from the Lord
and vindication(J) from God their Savior.
6 Such is the generation of those who seek him,
who seek your face,(K) God of Jacob.[b][c]
7 Lift up your heads, you gates;(L)
be lifted up, you ancient doors,
that the King(M) of glory(N) may come in.(O)
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,(P)
the Lord mighty in battle.(Q)
9 Lift up your heads, you gates;
lift them up, you ancient doors,
that the King of glory may come in.
10 Who is he, this King of glory?
The Lord Almighty(R)—
he is the King of glory.

A Psalm of David.24 (A)The earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof,[a]
the world and those who dwell therein,
2 for he has (B)founded it upon (C)the seas
and established it upon the rivers.
3 (D)Who shall ascend the hill of the Lord?
And who shall stand in his (E)holy place?
4 (F)He who has (G)clean hands and (H)a pure heart,
who does not (I)lift up his soul to (J)what is false
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive (K)blessing from the Lord
and (L)righteousness from (M)the God of his salvation.

1. Those who seek God's face (1-6)
The LORD is the creator of the heavens and the earth. He is the owner of all things. David saw that we are called to come to God, to meet him in his holy place. The blessed ones are those who come to God with trust in him, who cleanse their minds and hearts trusting that the LORD will receive them and bless them. The LORD blesses those who seek him with vindication and with his salvation. He blesses the generation that seeks his face. He is God our Savior.
2. Who is this King of glory? (7-1
)
The LORD is the King of glory. He has revealed himself from ancient times. The question, 'Who is the King of glory?', calls us to seek the one who is eternal, at the same time who reveals himself-his glory-in all things, including our life when we seek him. He is the LORD Almighty, who reveals his glory as the sovereign Creator. At the same time, he is the LORD who comes very personally to all who seek him, revealing himself as their personal Savior.
Prayer: LORD, help me to seek you with a pure hope. Help me to trust you as the King of glory and as the one who comes and saves me.
