First, the Lord brought Israel out of Egypt (1-2). As God promised, he led Israel out of Egypt. It was to make Israel a kingdom of priests and a holy nation (Ex 19:6). God wanted to dwell among them. Where he dwells becomes his sanctuary and his kingdom. Second, at his presence (3-8). At his presence the Red Sea fled and through it the Lord brought his people as on dry land. At his presence the Jordan River rolled back so that his people could march into the Promised Land. At his presence Mount Sinai trembled violently in fire (Ex 19:18). At the presence of Mighty God, the earth trembles. But God uses his mighty power to protect his people and to supply their needs. He turned the rock into a pool. He made the hard Rock (Christ) pour out springs of water. Praise the Lord!
Prayer: Lord, you are the creator, mighty God. You save us from our sin, death and the power of Satan. Dwell among us and make us your sanctuary as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation!
One Word: At your presence
