Simon’s mother-in-law was in bed with a fever. Jesus went to her, took her hand, and helped her up. The fever left her, and she began to wait on them. We can see Jesus is a very personal God. Jesus heals our physical and inner being. When Jesus heals our inner being, we are completely healed and ready to serve him. Praise Jesus who heals our inner being!

Very early in the morning, Jesus went to a solitary place and prayed. Jesus began the day with a prayer to God. Even though Jesus was God himself, he showed us the best way to live. God blesses our prayer before him. Through prayer, God gives us strength, direction, and wisdom.

The disciples shouted: “Everyone is looking for you!” Jesus replied, “Let us go somewhere else—to the nearby villages—so I can preach there also. That is why I have come.” Of course, healing those who are sick and demon possessed is important. Feeding those who are hunger is necessary. But Jesus says he came to preach the words of God. We can see that the words of God is the most powerful tool for helping others. Words of God truly heal our inner being. They convict us of our sins and gives us new lives before God. We should preach the words of God above all other things.

Prayer: Thank you Jesus who came to preach the words of God.

One Word: Preach the words of God
