ALL ISRAEL WILL BE SAVED

Passage: Romans 11:25-36

Key verse: 26a

NIV

All Israel Will Be Saved

25 I do not want you to be ignorant(A) of this mystery,(B) brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited:(C) Israel has experienced a hardening(D) in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,(E) 26 and in this way[a] all Israel will be saved.(F) As it is written:

“The deliverer will come from Zion;
    he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.
27 And this is[b] my covenant with them
    when I take away their sins.”[c](G)

28 As far as the gospel is concerned, they are enemies(H) for your sake; but as far as election is concerned, they are loved on account of the patriarchs,(I) 29 for God’s gifts and his call(J) are irrevocable.(K) 30 Just as you who were at one time disobedient(L) to God have now received mercy as a result of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now become disobedient in order that they too may now[d] receive mercy as a result of God’s mercy to you. 32 For God has bound everyone over to disobedience(M) so that he may have mercy on them all.

Doxology

33 Oh, the depth of the riches(N) of the wisdom and[e] knowledge of God!(O)
    How unsearchable his judgments,
    and his paths beyond tracing out!(P)
34 “Who has known the mind of the Lord?
    Or who has been his counselor?”[f](Q)
35 “Who has ever given to God,
    that God should repay them?”[g](R)
36 For from him and through him and for him are all things.(S)
    To him be the glory forever! Amen.(T)

The Mystery of Israel's Salvation

25 (A)Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers:[a] (B)a partial hardening has come upon Israel, (C)until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. 26 And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written,

(D)“The Deliverer will come (E)from Zion,
    he will banish ungodliness from Jacob”;
27 “and this will be my (F)covenant with them
    (G)when I take away their sins.”

28 As regards the gospel, they are enemies for your sake. But as regards election, they are (H)beloved for the sake of their forefathers. 29 For the gifts and (I)the calling of God are irrevocable. 30 For just as (J)you were at one time disobedient to God but now have received mercy because of their disobedience, 31 so they too have now been disobedient in order that by the mercy shown to you they also may now[b] receive mercy. 32 For God (K)has consigned all to disobedience, that he may have mercy on all.

33 Oh, the depth of the riches and (L)wisdom and knowledge of God! (M)How unsearchable are his judgments and how inscrutable his ways!

34 “For (N)who has known the mind of the Lord,
    or (O)who has been his counselor?”
35 “Or (P)who has given a gift to him
    that he might be repaid?”

36 For (Q)from him and through him and to him are all things. (R)To him be glory forever. Amen.

1. God will have mercy on them all (25-32) Paul explains a mystery to the Gentile believers in Rome, that would also give encouragement to the Jews. God had hardened Israel's heart until the full number of Gentiles come to salvation. Once God brings in the total number of Gentiles, He will soften the hearts of Israel and they will come back to him. At that time, all Israel will be saved. Paul quoted Isaiah, "The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob." Christ Jesus will return and cleanse the Jews of their sins. When they rejected the Gospel, the Jews became like enemies to believers. But God loves them because of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. God will have mercy and save His people. All were disobedient. But all are saved in the abundant mercy of Christ Jesus. 2. Oh, the depth of God's riches! (33-36) When Paul thought of God's wonderful plan of saving all his creation, he could only praise God in this doxology. God's wisdom and knowledge are fantastic. We all belong to him. "For from him and through him to him are all things. To him be glory forever! Amen."

Prayer: Lord, thank you so much for your mercy on us all. We thank you and praise you for being our God and Savior.

One Word: God will have mercy on them all
