Key verse: 7

NIV

Psalm 113

Praise the Lord.[a](A)

Praise the Lord, you his servants;(B)
praise the name of the Lord.
Let the name of the Lord be praised,(C)
    both now and forevermore.(D)

The Lord is exalted(F) over all the nations,
    his glory above the heavens.(G)
Who is like the Lord our God,(H)

who stoops down to look(K)
on the heavens and the earth?

He raises the poor(L) from the dust
    and lifts the needy(M) from the ash heap;
he seats them(N) with princes,

He settles the childless(O) woman in her home

1. The One who sits enthroned on high (1-4)

Let us praise the name of the Lord now and forever. Let the name of the Lord be praised in every place under the sky. He is exalted above the heavens. He created all things and he rules over his creation.

2. He stoops to look; he sees everything (5-9)

God who is enthroned in the highest heavens stoops down to look at his creatures. No problem is too big for him to handle and no problem is too small for his caring heart. No one should be fatalistic about his situation. We can pray about everything. God lifts the poor from the dust and seats them among princes (7,8). He solves the marriage problems of those who trust him and he makes barren women fruitful (9).

Prayer: Lord, I praise your name--both now and forever, for you are exalted over all nations, and your glory spreads from horizon to horizon. Thank you for stooping down to see my deepest needs and thank you for answering my prayers.

One Word: God in heaven knows what's going on
