From March 15th - 17th Gwangju 1,6 UBF held its Bible Café for freshmen with the theme “My New Story.”  40 new students attended, including 21 freshmen.

There were three lectures. Lecture 1 was given by Sh. Jonathan Kim  with the title “Jesus Changes Water to Wine” from John 2.  Sh. Peter Jun gave lecture 2 titled “Follow Me”based on Mark 2.  Lecture 3 was given by Sh. Jung Kang-gun with the title “Jesus Who Calls Zacchaeus”from Luke 19.

The lectures gave a clear message that only Jesus can transform people’s inner being and give them new hope and vision when they come to Jesus and meet Jesus personally.

Three students (Jin Why-Haeng, Chun Do-Jun, Lee Bo-Young) also shared their beautiful and transformed lives during the Bible academy.  Through their sincere testimonies most of the freshmen were moved and desire to know Jesus personally.  There also was a beautiful drama presentation based on the word of God for the freshmen. The students understood the message and were greatly encouraged.

There was also heart moving special song prepared by the freshmen who have been participating in one to one Bible study and SWS before the Bible Café was held. Each day, just before the beginning of the Bible Café we had a joyful eating fellowship with new comers and they all opened their hearts for the word of God.

Before the event we scheduled the programs to finish within one hour in order so that the freshmen can spend time to concentrate on the message. Most of the new students expressed that they want to be transformed like the testimony sharers and were interested in the Bible academy.  Among the new students, 13 freshmen have been faithful to one to one Bible studies, SWS and fellowship meetings before the Bible Café was held.

At present, March 2011, the number of our SWS attendees is has grown to 180 because of the new students (There were 160 attendees at the end of 2010).  Our student ministry has been gradually growing since the last fall semester, and we divided our fellowships into 17 small fellowships and 7 committees.  Each fellowship member actively participated in the pioneering work of the campus.

We are going to have a Spring Bible Conference on April 8th - 10th with the theme “Great Dream.” We pray that God may raise 300 one to ones and 200 SWS attendants in our ministry through the Spring conference.
