Northwestern Easter Conf. Highlights, Chicago

We give thanks to God for a beautiful conference from April 15-17 at Camp Wonderland, Wisconsin with 69 attendees and the theme, "I Am With You Always." There were 4 significant highlights: (1) We covered Genesis (Ch.1-3, "Where Are You?" by Young Lee) to Revelation (Ch.21-22 "God's Dwelling With Men" by Tony King); (2) Duo-message by Kevin Albright & Alan Wolff as the main message on Isaiah 53, "He Suffered For Us" (co-written and co-delivered by paragraph from 3 x 5 cards standing at mics); (3) Muslim ministry. Binta was raised Muslim but trusted Christ in her native west Africa. In spite of family persecution, she committed her life to Jesus. She received baptism on Sunday after sharing her tearful testimony. Also the only new NU student to attend our conference (never came to any UBF event before) was a girl named Zahra, from a Pakistani-American Muslim background. God is bringing Muslims to Christ! (4) Duo-drama by Augustine Park & Josephine Lee. They played the 2 robbers crucified next to Jesus. With their drama talent and Josephine's speech team talent, they wrote and acted a creative 'experience' for us. Other messengers were: Jared Erickson (NU Grad Engg), "Called to Be With Jesus" (Mk 3:13-19); Gail Madete (NU 4), "The Better Choice: Stop, Sit & Listen" (Lk 10:38-42); and, Curie Lee (NU 3), "I Am With You Always," (Mt 28). Moving life testimonies were given by David Hull and Haimei Chen. Testimonies were also shared by David Fang (headed for Thomas Jefferson in Philad.), Rose Fang (NU 2) and Elena Zhang (headed for Johns Hopkins). Two fun games were led by Francesca Park (NU alum) and Talisha Newby (NU 4). We will have a condensed mini-conference on Good Friday at NU. Please pray for 10 students to attend.
