"Join with me in suffering, like a good soldier of Christ Jesus. No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer" (2Ti 2:3-4).

In El Salvador, everyone was on vacation during the week we wanted to have a conference.  This drove up the cost to go anywhere. We decided to have a Bible academy at the church instead.  We took this opportunity to serve the word of God from August 2-5 at the UBF center.

On Tuesday, M. Edith gave a message on the importance of utilizing our time for God. On Wednesday, M. Raul gave a message on Isaiah 40:1-31 where we learned how to live like eagles, renewing our lives in God. On Thursday, M. Edith again gave a lecture on 2 Timothy 1:1-12 about remembering that God gave us gifts, like the spirit of power, love, and of self-discipline. On Friday, Edwin’s Bible student gave a message on 2 Timothy 2:1-4 where we learned the importance of being a good soldier of Christ and how we can even grow to be like a general. From the beginning of this academy, we linked the passages with each other under the common theme to become and live like good soldiers of Jesus Christ

Among the new students, Norma, Alex, Victor, Edwin, and Carlos participated. Both Alex and Norma face the same problem of persecution by their parents in their homes. We pray that they may have the fear of God to follow Christ and grow like brave soldiers of faith.

We praise God for his great blessing in nourishing us with his word during this summer vacation.

In Christ,
M. Isidro
