John 1:14, “The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.”

On December 4, 2011, we held the 2011 Christmas worship service in Columbus. The place was on OSU campus, in Barbie Tootle Room inside the newly built Ohio Union Building.  52 people attended from Columbus, Bowling Green and Northern Kentucky University. We were happy to have new students, family members and precious coworkers in Christ.  Jeff Gathergood presided. Maria Potter, the president of the UBF student club at OSU, and Jacob Robinson, the president of the UBF student club at NKU, and Jeff Lewis prayed.

Pastor Kevin Albright delivered the message with the title, “The Word became flesh.” His message revealed Jesus’ incarnational love toward sinners like us. It was full of grace and truth. Especially his personal testimony showed that God had called him to know Jesus personally and preach his gospel to change the world. His message touched all attendants’ hearts.

The house church members sang the offering song, “Do you hear what I hear?” There were 4 skits: the first one by Columbus UBF men’s devotional with the title, “Bible inception.” It was very creative with a clear point. The second one was by Columbus UBF women’s devotional with the title, “Three wise women,” -- Mary, Elizabeth and Anna. Bowling Green UBF presented a very joyful skit on Luke 2:1-20. NKU presented a very humorous skit.

Dr. Jack Rouzer, the UBF faculty advisor at OSU, attended and encouraged us greatly. After the service, there was a celebration dinner at the center and we could have a joyful fellowship with one another.

Most of all, we thank God for our Lord Jesus who is the Word but became flesh in order to become our Friend, Shepherd, Wonderful Counselor, Savior and Lord. We are moved by his incarnational love toward us and want to share his incarnational love with young college students in the coming new year.

Merry Christmas,

Henry Park
