Key verse Luke 8:50 "Hearing this, Jesus said to Jairus, “Don’t be afraid; just believe, and she will be healed.”

The medical diagnosis of Dr. James Suh's condition is tentatively diagnosed as  "Lymphoma - Intermediate form between Burkitt lymphoma and Diffuse Large B cell Lymphoma (DLBC)." Fortunately, it is a type of lymphoma that may be completely treated into remission by chemotherapy.

He is going to be hospitalized to Kyounghee medical center on Feb 6th Monday. There he will be treated by Dr. Kyoungsam Cho (Oncology) who is a leading authority in the field and who also happens to be his fellow colleague when he studied at SNU medical center.

We all trust Dr. Cho that he will undoubtedly lead the chemotherapy sessions well and Dr. James places his confidence in his expertise.  The first treatment plan is that he will have 4 cycles of chemotherapy in three week intervals and afterwards we will monitor the response of the treatment.

While the first cycle he needs to be hospitalized for only a week but subsequent treatment cycles will be done as an outpatient.

While he receives the 1st cycle, tumor lysis syndrome is a particular problem because of the rapid destruction of tumor metabolites that will be rapidly excreted. Therefore he will need earnest prayer for currently his kidney function is marginal (Cr1.2-1.4)

We pray that in the course of chemotherapy, God may doubly strengthen his body so that he may successfully undergo chemotherapy and experience complete remission from his disease.  We thank God for listening to prayers of all our family members of all the servants of God throughout the world that in the process of prayer his diagnosis went from an incurable disease to curable one, leading to the best treatment.

May God show his mercy upon Dr. James in the course of chemotherapy so that he may endure all the trials and bear fruit of perseverance.

Prayer Topics:

1) Improved renal function to excrete toxic metabolites from the treated tumor cells in order to prevent tumor lysis syndrome
2) Healing for his severe gastric erosion so that he can have a daily diet without pain
3) Adequate response of his pulmonary arterial thrombus by heparin treatment
4) Double the strength of his organ systems to overcome the effects of chemotherapy
5) Pray for complete remission of his disease

Thanks for your prayer support.

In Christ,
Dr. Ilki Hong
