Praise and thank God for blessing the CBF Disciples Chorus Musical, "Children of Eden Redeemed" on Saturday, June 16th. This is the third musical that we have done, but the first of this caliber. It was a full two hour musical based on the first 9 chapters of Genesis, beginning from the Creation and ending with Noah's sacrifice and God's promise never again to destroy the earth by flood. The original musical "Children of Eden" was written by Stephen Schwartz and uses the story of Creation as an allegory for the struggles of parenting. It was--unfortunately--one of the most blasphemous shows I've ever seen, portraying God as a controlling, moody, overbearing father trying to keep his children from true freedom, until he sees Noah's example and decides to remove himself from humanity and let his "children" live their own lives. I was so indignant that I decided to rewrite the show from beginning to end, to be Biblical and glorify God, hence the name "Children of Eden Redeemed."

The CBF Disciples Chorus, which was established in 2001, consists of 19 members, grades 1-8. They do concerts bi-annually, and perform for CBF Worship Service weekly always memorized. I am continually amazed by the children, who keep pushing further and doing more than I could expect or ask each year. For this show, they memorized hundreds of lines and 26 songs, in full harmony, solos, and dances, choreography. I thank God for the work of Sharon McEathron and her tireless work to prepare full sets, notably the 7 foot tall ark was really fun. I thank God for our parents and their continual support to help children with their lines, memorizing music and making all the colorful and beautiful costumes. I thank P. Ron for his continual support of the chorus, without which this show would not have been possible. I especially thank God for the children and all their hard work, their reward is sure in heaven. Especially notable were, Main Roles: God - Abraham Ahn, Adam - Daniel Ward, Eve - Frida Guzman, Snake - Samuel Rayas, Storytellers - Mary Magardician, Mariza Mendoza; Secondary Roles: Noah - Judah Stasinos, Cain/Shem - Stephen Yu, Abel/Japheth - Cesar Guzman, Noah's Wife - Rebekah Rayas, Ham - Caleb Kim, Shem's Wife - Grace Koh, Ham's wife - Jojo Yu; Others: Young Abel - Daniel Min, Young Cain - Joshua Jung, Storytellers - Grace Koh, Anna-Marie Ahn, Grace Min, Angel Choir - Moses Magardician, Isabella Horvath, and Esther Kim.

May God bless the Disciples Chorus and use it for His glory, thank you for all your prayers!
