Dominican Republic UBF

I am very grateful to God, who has shown his patience and mercy to me. Almost six months went by since the Christmas report that I wrote. Then I realized that God called my family and me as a manger ministry, to be used for his great salvation work. I pray that we may serve God, full of grace, by his glory, and his praise may manifest in this manger ministry. Amen.

I lived along time alone as a foreigner in the Dominican Republic. After awhile, Missionary Isabel came to Dominican Republic. Now we have served together for one and a half years. It was very difficult for her to adapt to the climate ant to the Dominican’s character. We suffered living together in a very small room. Now we’re more adapted than the Dominicans. Nine months ago was born our second girl, Daniela (September 2, 2011). In this pregnancy M. Isabel lost a lot of weight, and her life was at risk at birth. God took care of them. Daniela was born with good health.

After a lot of prayer, M. Isabel and Eunice received a temporary residence visas for one year. This procedure lasted one year. We thought the Migration’s department forgot us, but God didn’t forget us. Next year we’ll solicit visas of permanent residence. We need prayer because every year the rules are stricter. Our daughter Eunice finished her first year at pre kindergarten school. Now, she’s four years old. I work on the street selling women’s accessories like umbrellas, socks, cosmetics, etc. That helps us to buy food and to pay the basic services. We’re very grateful to UBF Guadalajara. Through their offerings we can live in a better apartment. It’s an apartment on the third floor. There we celebrated Christmas worship service, 2011, and have 1:1 Bible studies with sheep. Two students are attending worship service.

I am studying 1:1 with two students: Leonardy (Chemistry engineering) and Martín (Medicine). They have not been very faithful; so we must pray and encourage them to attend worship service and 1:1 Bible study. Leonardy is from the town of Barahona. It’s four hours from the capital city. Every three weeks he goes to his home town to see his daughter. Sometimes he works on Sunday. Martín is from Paraguay, he walks for an hour to come to worship service. He does not have a job. He doesn´t have family here and he can’t pay his own expenses. Sometimes he asks to borrow money from me, and I help him to buy his bus ticket. We pray that we may help them through 1:1 Bible study. They may grow like Jesus disciples. They may live by faith and God may be the first for them.

Now I´m serving the worship service message from the book of Judges. We pray that we may learn about the life of faith and the challenge of the judges who served during dark times. Thank you for your prayers; they have been a great help to us.
