God is Gracious in Granting New Life; Lincoln Ohnyu Hajek was Born!

On Monday July 30th 10:37 am Lincoln Ohnyu Hajek was born. He and his mother are healthy: 9 lbs 15 oz and 22 inches with full head of black hair. We thank the Lord for this blessing of new life. The entire process made me think about life and about God. Mankind spends it energy trying to conquer and crush other humans -- but God is gracious in granting new life. God is kind to unworthy sinners in bringing new hope and joy into the world. He is named after President Abraham Lincoln, who was from Illinois, and had a great and deep faith in God that preserved the Union in a time of darkness. The middle name Ohnyu is Korean and means "meek" or "gentle" and comes from Matthew 5:5 "Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth." We pray that Lincoln may be a man of great faith like his name sake and be a great blessing for the state of Illinois, this nation, and the world.
