"He looked up to heaven and with a deep sigh said to him, “Ephphatha!” (which means “Be opened!”). At this, the man’s ears were opened, his tongue was loosened and he began to speak plainly.”  Mark 7:34,35

From July 20 to 23 Jongro 1 UBF and the Hwarang UBF had an united summer Bible conference for four days and three nights at the Pear Blossoms Aroma Art Gallery Center located in An-Seong, Gyeonggi Province, South Korea. The conference theme was“Jesus who bore our sins and sorrow” (Isaiah 53:4,5).  A total of ten messengers were raised and they all delivered messages full of God’s grace.  Also there were 29 testimony speakers.

This conference had the following characteristics:

First, since 2001, this conference had the largest number of sheep. Altogether 157 people attended and among them 50 were sheep. From Chongro 1, 131 people including 47 sheep attended and from Hwarang, 26 people including three sheep attended. In the beginning we just prayed for 33 sheep, but one week before the conference we began to pray for 40 sheep. God sent altogether 47 sheep.  Among the 47 sheep, 33 were student sheep.

Second, there was a clear work of God among the sophomore team members who opened their ears and confessed their faith openly.

Third, some sheep who had left our ministry came back and made decisions to live as disciples of Jesus.  Also there was the work of repentance and recovery among five mothers who shared their broken family situations in their testimonies.

Fourth, students were clothed with desire to live as a light to this generation, and to build up the spiritual community.  They served the conference with life testimonies, singalongs, singing inspiration, a play, a music band, and a duo dram.

For 50 days prior to the conference, we prayed every morning for our student shepherds and sheep to open their ears and speak clearly. We prayed for the work of the Holy Spirit as in the day of Pentecost. God answered all our prayers and there was a great work of the Holy Spirit. No conference was greater than this conference since 2001. Thank God for this and thank God also for enabling us to learn the power of prayer and to have hope for the work of God.

We are planning to establish an Eagles team meeting and have testimony sharing time as the fruit of this conference. I pray that 12 new sheep may steadily attend this meeting and be healed completely from their wounded hearts and grow as shepherds who can help others. I pray that God may abundantly bless them all to live a beautiful and plentiful life of bearing much good fruit by dwelling in Jesus whom they met through this conference.
