"For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace." (Isaiah 9:6)

Kansas City UBF Christmas Worship Service was held on December 9. There were two highlights. First, Ferdinand Larice was raised as a messenger and served his message from Isaiah 8:19-9:7. Second, Sandy Depree shared her shepherdess testimony.

In his message Ferdinand said, “Personally out of the titles given to Jesus the one that means the most to me is Mighty God. Before coming to University Bible Fellowship I struggled with many fears and anxieties in my life: Fears of being hurt or ridiculed by the world, either now or later. I also had fears that the goals that I am working for will never be reached. But when the light of Jesus dawned in my heart all of that simply went away. The same God that calmed the stormy sea with one word calmed my restlessness." We pray that God may raise Ferdinand as a regular messenger of God's word.

In her Shepherdess testimony, Sandy said, "I enjoy studying and teaching the Bible.  No matter how many times I study and or read God’s word, new lessons are revealed to me. If someone would have told me a year ago that I would be where I am now, teaching the Bible, I would have called them a liar. I am grateful and thankful that God did not see me for my stubborn exterior, but that He saw my heart and refined my rough edges and is still refining me today. I thank God for meeting me at the well, revealing my purpose to me, and calling me to be His witness. I pray that I may continue to seek God through His word and prayer, so that I may be an effective witness of his word.” After Shepherd Matthew Chiesi, she is the second person we call as a shepherdess.

May God continue to reveal his glory by raising up messengers of his word and by raising up shepherds and shepherdesses for our time.

Merry Christmas!

In Christ,
