I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit

Praise and thank God who is now living, hears, and answers prayer. Through this Mission Report I want to remember what God has done during this year in Slovakia and give him all the praise and glory.

First, everything is impossible for man, but everything is possible for God
God allowed us to prepare the Central Europe Conference which was held in Slovakia from July 20 to July 23. Even though I knew it was a blessing to prepare this conference, when I looked at our resources--faithful co-workers, enough money, skillful talents, and so on, I still found nothing. It is too big of a conference for one house church to serve, I thought. But Our Father God worked by himself in advance.
Firstly, God gave me a bonus for housing expenses through my embassy job and I found a pretty apartment that has a comfortable kitchen, a wide balcony and also is very close to the dormitory, through Slovakian prayer co-workers. Finally, on March 2012 we moved to the new apartment. Especially Missionary Esther was very happy. The Slovakian prayer co-workers came and prayed for our Bible house church. Praise and thanks to God who is with us.

Second, God prepared a suitable conference hall
From January we managed to find a suitable conference hall which was low priced and in good condition with comfortable bedrooms, delicious food, convenient traffic, and so on. It is not easy to find it, however. Time went very fast. We were very anxious. According to his schedule, though, God started to work and helped us to find a suitable conference hall which is located on the hill in Bratislava and has fine views and is very close to our Bible house church through a colleague of mine at the embassy. She helped us with all her mind, like as hostess.

Third, God started to send students
By God’s grace, Missionary Ester has taught the Korean language at the Asian Culture Center which is located in Bratislava for one year. On May there was a Korean language contest which was organized by the Korean Embassy. All of the students wanted to participate in this contest. They needed a special place to writing scripture, practice aloud, and also needed someone to monitor their work. For the purpose of this work, God used our Bible house church and us to help them. They regularly came and ate and practiced together. Sometimes they felt it was very difficult to memorize and announce clearly before a large audience, but finally they memorized and spoke boldly. Beronika who is studying in the Japanese department in Comenius University won the first prize in the contest. Others of them got prizes. During this period we became familiar with them.
God helped us to invite them to the Central European Conference. God by himself prepared their minds and lead them to decide to participate in the conference.
Especially God helped Beronika to prepare the presentation of Slovakia in English and helped her to play a main roll in the conference. She led the K pop dancing for Central European Night as a representative of Slovakia. God led one beautiful and faithful student to us and blessed our meeting.
God also sent us one family--mother Stanka, her son Samuel, and Benajmin who are faithful Christians and good talents at playing violin and guitar, and lovers of God. With pleasure they served this conference with fantastic music and with prayer.
On the tenth day before starting the conference, God sent us two faithful prayer servants--Hannes, and Benajmin. Every morning we came together and prayed for this conference. We asked God to show his glory in Slovakia and Central Europe.

Forth, beautiful harmony with co-workers of Central Europe
From June, every week we started to have conference calls by Skype. During this conference call, we followed God’s guidance together and confirmed the detailed program of the conference. The direction of the conference was to Gain Christ; we picked the main messenger, the presider, the cost of conference, and so on.
Missionary Hanna Shin from Czech UBF served everything with all her heart and money. Missionary Andrew Kim from Hungary UBF served the final message of “Do you really love me?” Missionary Eliah Park from Poland presided the Central European Night with much humor. Missionary James Han from Austria UBF and Missionary Josep Bae from Croatia UBF served with all hard work related to this conference with wisdom and pleasure. During this conference God gave the second generation responsibility of doing God’s work and they served music with their good talents.
Additionally, God sent six co-workers from Chuncheon UBF, Korea. They prepared this conference with prayer and sacrifice. God also set excellent messengers, Walter Nett and Stefan Elsholz from Germany UBF. Especially God sent us Dr John Jun for Continuing Missionary Education and encouraged all missionaries.

Through this conference we all became one in Christ. God also poured out his grace on all participants in this conference and helped us to gain Christ in our hearts.

2013 – “I chose you and appointed you to go and bear fruit”

Korean Studies was opened in Comenius University which is located in Bratislava and is the oldest university in Slovakia on September 2012. Twenty new students study the Korean language, Korean history, and Korean culture in here. They already are accustomed to Korean drama and k pop is also a great curiosity from Korea.

From October God sent six students who study Korean studies at Comenius University – Suji, Katarina, Tana, Ronald, Jacop, Kristina – to our Bible house church every week. We together have eaten Korean food and talked about Korea and Slovakia. On December 12 we had a final party. Some students brought traditional foods by themselves cooked, some students brought delicious chocolate. Missionary Ester Jang also served rich Korean food. Through a series of meetings, we became familiar with each other.
Praise and thanks to God who is living and is willing to give us good friends and is ready to pour out his Holy Spirit on us.

Dear heavenly Father. We know everything is impossible for us, but we believe everything is possible for God our father. Please continue to use us as your witness in the new year and also the hope of your promise – to bear fruit--may be fulfilled.

One word: Everything is possible for God
