Ghana UBF, Africa

October 9, 2013

Last week, from Sept. 25 to 28, there was the African Mission Leaders’ conference at Accra, the capital of Ghana. We attended the conference as the representatives of UBF and total of about 500 people attended. Only three attendees among them were Koreans while all others were Africans. The theme of the conference was “Making Disciples of All Nations.” The conference helped Africans come to the conclusion that they should serve the discipleship ministry and obey the world mission command. Throughout the conference I could feel proud of our missionaries who are actively serving discipleship ministry.

I got a hard time during the conference because of a tight schedule, different environment, food matter, and language barrier. Finally at the last day of the conference, I had stomach cramps and also diarrhea caused by the stress. By the grace of God, however, we could come to our missionaries’ house (M. Truman and Maria in Ghana). It took one and half hours to get there though. I could get well by taking rest and eating porridge for a whole day. They have two daughters, Mary and Julia who are four years old and two years old respectively. Working for Samsung Nigeria, this young missionary family had co-worked with M. Peter Park (Lagos UBF, Nigeria) for 7 years and M. Truman’s family got transferred here to Samsung Ghana about 10 months ago. From that time on they started a new pioneering ministry in Ghana. My heart was moved when I found out that they are living with M. Maria’s mother whose right side body has been paralyzed due to cerebral hemorrhage.

M. Maria got a room in the dorm and is using the room for worship and one-to-one ministry. So, she goes to school every day as a student. I was greatly encouraged by our faithful missionaries. We had a Sunday worship service there with a sheep, Linda. On the following day, Monday morning, we all studied pneumatology together. The campus is so beautiful and large that tens of thousands of students are studying there. Unlike Zimbabwe, the economic development of Ghana is actively being made. We earnestly prayed that God may raise an ancestor of faith in Ghana and many disciples of Jesus as well.

In Love,

M. Anna Lee
