Uganda UBF
July 4, 2014

We are struggling with prayers for BMC to be a healing center for patients, a retreat center for missionaries and a training center for youth. We are working until 10:00 p.m., but our goal is to open 24 hours a day. Recently, we hired three more nurses. We are training them to be essential workers for BMC ministry. Also, with UBF co-workers’offering we newly purchased an endoscopy, colonoscopy, and bronchoscopy and patients have been increasing since M. Livingston runs these instruments, for even other hospitals send patients to our clinic.

A month ago, Korea Vision Care Service sent an optometrist to Uganda through KOICA (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade's International Cooperation Agency) and is currently working with us and at present he is implementing pilot projects of an elementary school eye screening. On the basis of this survey, "Uganda, Open your eyes” we are planning a proposal to KOICA. Once KOICA is assigned to the project, we will receive a budget of hundreds of millions to cover the necessary equipment and personnel expenses. This may contribute to improve the health care in Uganda. Please pray for this project. We are praying for opening a dental clinic. A Korean dentist, Jae-Pil Chang, wants to come and join us. His plan is to help BMC to open a dental clinic and to set up dental equipment. He is a professional in implant, so he wants to hire Ugandan dentists to educate and train them to be professional in implant.

This year, five second gens from USA and Canada will visit Uganda as short term missionaries. Currently, sister Emerald from Washington UBF is helping BMC ministry and CBF as well until the end of July. In August, Samuel Lee Jr. from Chicago and Peter Cowen from U of I will come and in this September Rebekah from Washington UBF, Luke Hong Jr. from Montreal, Canada are coming to BMC. I pray that they may grow both physically and spiritually in the world mission vision through this short term mission trip to be great servants of God who can serve the next generation world mission.

Makerere Campus Ministry

We are praying for 12 student leaders and for establishing two house churches this year. Actually Sh. Moses is preparing for marriage in July and Sh. Albert in September. We also have been praying for Rwanda pioneering and in the last Easter Bible conference two students participated from Rwanda. In coming September we are praying to have a historical Bible conference in Rwanda for the first time. I earnestly pray that the work of healing and restoration by God’s good hand may arise in Uganda through our BMC and UBF campus gospel ministry. Please continue to pray for us.
