Jesus is Alive

Uganda UBF held tire Easter Bible Conference under the theme: Jesus is Alive. It was held from April 7th- 9th 2023 and was attended by 75 members. The opening message was delivered by Michael titled: “Alive in Christ” from Romans 6:1-14. Through the message, we were encouraged that the cross of Jesus delivers us from the power of sin. In the evening, we had a book review of Rick Warren’s “The Purpose Driven Life”. An engaging panel discussion was held and attendants could accept that the purpose-driven life begins when we find our mission in God.

The next day, we started with the message: “I am Willing” from Mark 1:40-42 delivered by Paddy. We could learn that although we don’t have physical leprosy, we are infected with many evils in our hearts. However, Jesus is full of compassion to make us clean. We accepted that it’s not the nails that held Jesus on the cross, but his willingness to make us clean. The first main lecture delivered by John titled “Jesus the Resurrection and the Life” from John 11:1-45 challenged us that having resurrection faith is necessary to fulfill our mission on earth. We need to grow into this living hope in order to serve our campus mission. On the final day, we received the first message from Betty titled, “My Father’s House”. Reflecting on the glorious hope of our home in heaven, we were comforted that our labor in the Lord is not in vain.

The final message was delivered by Klaire titled “Jesus is Alive” from Luke 24:1-25. Through the message, we could accept the resurrected Jesus as a personal companion when we share the word of God in our mission field. After this, Patrick Ogwang delivered a heart-moving testimony. After spending many years outside God's mission field, God restored his house church, and ministry. He accepted Luke 22:31-32, “Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.” We thank God for Patrick’s decision of faith and return to campus mission. May God continue to grow our community with the new message of the Living Hope in Christ Jesus!
