“Hear the Word and Believe in Him”

Belize UBF had an Easter bible conference at Quest ministry retreat center from 3/31-4/2/23 titled, “Hear the word and believe in Him.” The opening message was delivered by Darren L. with the title “Whoever hears my word and believes “, based on John 5:16-39. He invited 50 attendants to listen to the word, especially the gospel of Jesus, and to believe in Jesus so that even one person can cross over from death to life, through this conference.

On the first night, Alondra P. shared her life testimony. She confessed common law relationship is sin, but God saved her from her sin through Jesus and blessed her to marry through Bible study. Alondra and Juan’s house church gives us hope that common law relationship people can marry.

On the second day, Juan P. delivered a very graceful and powerful message titled, “Father, Forgive them”, based on Luke 23:26-56. When he was a teenager, he was a gang member, robbing people, hurting people, smoking and drinking, and seeking the pleasures of the world. While in prison for three years, he accepted Christ for the forgiveness of his sins. By His grace, he was saved. He went back to school and finished his associate degree. He and his wife became early morning prayer co-workers.

In the evening, Msn. Victor E. from Shippensburg UBF delivered a powerful message, “He has risen!”, based on Luke 24:1-35. Then Camila B., Asher H., and Maurice L. shared their life testimonies. Asher has been in UBF for 5 years. When he was ten years old, he came to UBF Sunday worship service along with Dillon and his sister Shannelle. A significant change in Belize UBF is having HBF fellowship meetings. Six other high school members attended this conference. He was a hyperactive child. He said he was young and rebellious. He did not study well. He testified how he is growing to be an honor student. On the third day, a Sunday message was delivered by Angelica L. titled, “Do you love me.” After we heard about the gospel of Jesus, we not only believed but also confessed our love to the risen Jesus and accepted his command “Feed my sheep.”

Thank God for raising; 4 Messengers, 4 Life Testimony speakers, and 5 Group Bible Study leaders. Thank God for sending Msn. Victor and Marcus C. from Shippensburg UBF. Msn. Marcus C. did not have a passport, which he applied for but did not get until 5 pm on Thursday, 8 hours before he was supposed to leave Shippensburg to come to Belize. Thank God for Washington UBF and NY UBF support and prayer. Thank God for our leaders (Dillon Leal, Melanie Lammey, Angelica Lopez, and Lisa C.) to serve this conference with a sense of responsibility.
