For the first time in four years, the National Student Retreat took place from February. 6-9 in Sokcho, Gangwon-do. The theme was “God and I.” It was a retreat to share how God met and guided each person during the pandemic and look forward to meeting with Him newly. With 328 attendees from 40 centers (80% were 2nd gens), the largest number of students ever attended. The retreat began with Han C. (Gwangju 1) leading the ice-breaker.

The messages were given by: Samuel H. (Chuncheon, Opening, 1 Kings 19, The Small Voice of God), S. Lee Ye-chan (Anam I, Lecture 1, Matthew 14:22-33, Don't Be Afraid), S. Lee In-su (Hanyang, Lecture 2, Luke 9:18-27, Christ and the disciple), and S. Matthew Lee (Gyeongseong 1, Closing, Exodus 3:1-12, go now). In addition, thirteen students, including two Russian brothers, presented their life testimonies. Through the Word and testimonies, the attendees heard God's voice personally and put on the faith to overcome their problems, such as difficulties in studying and finding a job, sin problems, and mental difficulties. At night, through the time of praise and prayer, they praised and prayed fervently and moved toward God. The second day was an outdoor activity, so they had a great time touring Sokcho and skiing. The students accepted God's word to Moses to “go now” to save the suffering people under the oppression of Egypt and made up their minds to go to their respective campuses. Although it seemed that their ministry has been chained during the pandemic, God's word was not chained. God was accomplishing great works of salvation in each center and campus. Praise the Lord!
