Merry Christmas to you and your family!

In a mystery that inspires us to wonder and awe, our Lord Jesus Christ put aside the glory and majesty of heaven to enter this world as a little baby who was laid in a manger (Lk 2:7; Jn 1:14). He experienced life as we do, with all its trials and sorrows, and finally died on the cross as a ransom sacrifice for us. Then God raised him from the dead and gave him eternal victory and glory. In this way, he became our Savior and Lord, our Friend and Shepherd. As I consider what Jesus has done for me and you, a shout of joy arises in my soul: “Thank you, Jesus! Praise you, Jesus!” Jesus’ coming is good news of great joy for all people. May the grace of Jesus fill our hearts in this season.

During the last four months, I have had the privilege of visiting UBF chapters in Latin America, Africa, Oceania, Canada and the USA, mostly with my wife Dervilla. We have met missionaries who received the grace of Incarnate Jesus and have humbly served people in their mission fields. Through them, Jesus has been raising national leaders who have established house churches, and the next generation of missionaries among their children. It is all the fruit of Jesus’ incarnation. This mighty manifestation of Jesus’ power has inspired us to see God’s vision to spread his kingdom all over the world.

As you know, in 2023 we will have the UBF International Summer Bible Conference. It will be held from August 3-6 at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The title is “His Glory” (Jn 1:14). We pray that Jesus’ glory may be revealed through the messages, testimonies, mission reports and special programs. As we see his glory, he will renew our faith and vision so that we can engage in world mission more powerfully. We pray for many young people to attend this conference, see his glory, and catch God’s vision for their lives. May the powerful revelation of God’s glory make 2023 a most blessed and fruitful year for us all. May God richly bless you!

¡Feliz Navidad para usted y su familia!

En un misterio que nos inspira maravilla y asombro, nuestro Señor Jesucristo dejó la gloria y majestad del cielo a un lado para entrar en este mundo como un niño pequeño quien fue puesto en un pesebre (Lc 2:7; Jn 1:14). Él experimentó la vida como nosotros, con todas sus pruebas y tristezas, y finalmente murió en la cruz como un sacrificio de rescate por nosotros. Entonces Dios lo resucitó de los muertos y le dio la victoria y la gloria eternas. De esta manera, él se convirtió en nuestro Salvador y Señor, nuestro Amigo y Pastor. Al considerar lo que Jesús ha hecho por mí y por ustedes, surge en mi alma un grito de alegría: “¡Gracias, Jesús! ¡Alabado seas, Jesús!” La venida de Jesús es una buena noticia de gran alegría para todo el pueblo. Que la gracia de Jesús llene nuestros corazones en esta temporada.

Durante los últimos cuatro meses, he tenido el privilegio de visitar los capítulos de UBF en América Latina, África, Oceanía, Canadá y Estados Unidos, mayormente con mi esposa Dervilla. Hemos e contrado misioneros quienes recibieron la gracia de Jesús encarnado y han servido humildemente a las personas en sus campos misioneros. A través de ellos, Jesús ha estado levantando líderes nacionales quienes han establecido iglesias hogareñas, y la próxima generación de misioneros entre sus hijos. Todo es el fruto de la encarnación de Jesús. Esta fuerte manifestación del poder de Jesús nos ha insp rado a ver la visión de Dios para extender su reino por todo el mundo.

Como saben, en 2023 tendremos la Conferencia Bíblica Internacional de Verano de UBF. Se llevará a cabo del 3 al 6 de agosto en la Universidad de Illinois en Urbana-Champaign. El título es “Su gloria” (Jn 1:14). Oramos para que la gloria de Jesús se revele a través de los mensajes, testimonios, reportes de misiones y programas especiales. A medida que veamos su gloria, Él renovará nuestra fe y visión para que podamos participar en la misión mundial con más fuerza. Oramos para que muchos jóvenes asistan a esta conferencia, vean su gloria y capten la visión de Dios para sus vidas. Que la poderosa
revelación de la gloria de Dios haga de 2023 un año muy bendecido y fructífero para todos nosotros.

Merry Christmas! 여러분과 여러분의 가정에 성탄 문안 인사 드립니다.

우리의 능력으로 이해할 수 없는 놀랍고 경이로운 방법 안에서, 예수님께서 하나님 나라 보좌의 권세와 영광을 모두 버리시고 이 땅에 말구유에 낮아져 오셨습니다. (누가복음 2:7; 요한복음 1:14)  그는 우리가 겪었던 모든 고통과 고난과 슬픔을 모두 경험하시고 결국에 우리의 죄를 위해 그의 모든 삶을 희생하시며 십자가에서 죽으셨습니다. 그때 하나님께서 그를 죽음에서 일으켜 세우시고 진정한 승리와 영광을 그에게 주셨습니다. 이를 통해 예수님은 우리의 진정한 구원 자요, 주님이시요, 친구이며 목자가 되셨습니다. 제가 이러한 구원의 놀라운 일을 저와 여러분들에게 행하신 예수님을 생각할 때, 놀라운 기쁨이 제 안에서 솟아 나오는 것을 보게 됩니다:“예수님, 감사합니다! 당신을 찬양합니다!”예수님의 탄생은 참으로 모든 사람에게 큰 기쁨의 좋은 소식입니다. 성탄절에 예수님이 우리의 심령 안에 충만하기를 기도합니다.

저와 저의 동역자는 올해 4개월동안, 주님의 은혜로 중남미, 아프리카, 오세아니아, 케나다 그리고 미국 몇 지역을 방문하는 큰 은혜를 덧입었습니다. 우리는 예수님의 성육신의 은혜를 체험하며 겸손하며 헌신적으로 사역을 섬기시는 많은 선교사님들을 만나 뵈었습니다. 우리는 이들의 믿음과 헌신을 통해 예수님께서 현지인 영적 리더를 세우시며, 가정 교회를 이루시고, 그들의 자녀들을 다음 세대의 영적 지도자들로 세우시는 것을 보게 되었습니다. 이들은 모두 예수님의 성육신의 열매들입니다. 이렇듯 사역가운데 나타나신 놀라운 예수님의 성육신의 전능하신 능력이 저희들로 하여금 그의 나라가 전세계에 강력히 전파 되리라는 비젼과 확신을 보게 하여 주셨습니다.

여러분도 알다 싶히, 저희는 2023년에 있을ISBC 국제 수양회를 준비하고 있습니다. 수양회는 8월 3일부터 6일까지 미국 일리노이주에 위치한 어바나 샴페인 일리노이 주립대학에서Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) 있을 예정입니다. 주제는“그의 영광”(요한복음 1:14) 입니다. 저희는 예수님의 영광이 말씀과, 소감, 선교 보고, 그리고 준비하는 모든 프로그램들을 통해 드러나기를 기도하고 있습니다. 우리가 예수님의 영광을 볼 때, 주님께서는 우리의 믿음과 비전을 새롭게 하시고 세계선교를 더욱 힘차게 섬기도록 축복하여 주실 것입니다. 특별히 우리는 많은 젊은이들이 수양회에 참석하기를 기도하며 그들이 그의 영광을 통해 하나님의 그들을 향한 비전을 소유하기를 기도합니다. 저희에게 2023년은 어느 해 보다도 하나님의 영광이 저희들 가운데 넘치도록 드러나는, 그래서 가장 축복된 해, 열매 맺는 해가 되기를 기도합니다.

하나님께서 여러분들을 축복하시기를 기도합니다!
