UBF New General Director Inauguration Ceremony was held at Chicago UBF on Aug 12 from 7-8:30pm. P. Moses Yoon expressed his gratitude for serving UBF community as a general director during the last 4 years through his farewell address based on Luke 11:2. He urged us to pray more for the kingdom of God. P. Ron Ward, the new general director, delivered a powerful and inspiring inaugural address titled "Be Strong, Obey and Conquer the Land" based on Joshua 1:7. He urged us to value the word of God. Also he shared God's vision for UBF ministry. P. Ron encouraged greater cross-cultural and inter-generational co-working to carry out the world mission commandment of Jesus. Finally, he emphasized that we must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus and hold onto the gospel truth.

BE STRONG, OBEY AND CONQUER THE LAND

“Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.” (Jos 1:7)

Good evening! Anyung Hasimnika! Buenas Noches! Gutten Abend! Dobre Vejer! First of all, I join the entire UBF community in giving thanks to God for using P. Moses Yoon as our General Director for the last four years. He has shared the living words of God with us faithfully, giving us spiritual direction and encouragement during a global pandemic. It has been a great blessing to have served under his leadership and to have become his friend.

As his term is ending, I now stand here to be the next General Director of UBF ministry. The grace of my Lord Jesus Christ is truly amazing. He has saved me from my sins and transformed me from a follower of the American Dream to a shepherd of God’s people with living hope in the kingdom of God. Thanks and praise to my Lord Jesus Christ! Jesus’ grace has been manifest to me through many servants of God whom I also thank: First, the late Dr. Samuel and Grace Lee. Dr. Lee saw me with God’s hope despite my weaknesses and failings. He gave me the privilege to work beside him for 18 years, and loved me like a son. M. Sarah Barry has prayed for me wholeheartedly for over 40 years. Her spiritual support has been vital. I am also grateful to P. Abraham Kim–my original mentor and his wife Sarah, Dr. John and Sarah Jun, Dr. Mark and Anna Yang, M. Isaac and Rebecca Choi, Pastors Mark Vucekovich, Teddy Hembekides and Kevin Albright, the entire Chicago UBF community, and friends in Christ everywhere. And I give thanks for my mentors at Wheaton College–Drs. Scott Moreau and John Armstrong.

Most of all, I am grateful to my loving wife Dervilla, who has supported me for the last 37 years, bearing and raising six children, and building up our family. She has sacrificed herself, allowing me to serve God freely. Without her, I would not be here today. I am grateful to my amazing children: Sarah, David, Rebekah, John, Daniel and Joshua, and to my grandchildren Abigail, Amelia and Penelope, who can cheer me up without even trying to.

As I prayed for God’s guidance, the Holy Spirit impressed upon me Joshua 1:7. God said to Joshua, “Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go.” At that time, the people of Israel were standing at the entrance of the promised land. Through Moses, God had led them out of slavery in Egypt and then trained them in the wilderness for forty years. Though Moses had been their great shepherd, he would not lead them into the promised land. God gave Joshua the mission of leading his people to conquer and occupy the promised land. God promised to give his people every place where they set their feet. This would require fighting against strong enemies. God would be with them, but the task would be difficult. So God commanded Joshua to be strong, taught him how to be strong, and gave him a warning and a promise.

First, “be strong and courageous, obey the word of God.” Before Moses died, he had said to all Israel, “Be strong and courageous” (Dt 31:6). Moses also said these words to Joshua twice in the presence of all Israel (Dt 31:7,23). And now God himself repeats these words to Joshua three times in 1:6-9. The most important thing for Joshua was to be strong and courageous. These words were not given because Joshua had been weak and fearful. Joshua had proven to be a man of courage and faith. He had received training under Moses for decades. He knew the faith and spirit of Moses, and God’s vision for Israel. He seemed fully prepared to lead. Yet the Lord knew his heart and said, “Be strong and very courageous.” Most likely, Joshua felt weak and inadequate. Moses had been an epic leader, the founder. No successor could measure up. In addition, being a top leader is a great responsibility. From now on, Joshua would have to make hard decisions and bear the consequences. He could expect many demands and complaints. Most of all, he had to confront strong enemies: enemy armies from without and the subtle temptations of idolatrous cultures from within. It was too much for any human being to bear. Joshua needed strength–heavenly strength. Where would this strength come from?

God said to Joshua, “Be strong and very courageous.” As God’s word instructed Joshua, God’s power entered his heart. He could turn his mind away from the difficulties to the great and awesome God. This was the God who broke Pharaoh’s mighty grip and delivered the Israelites from bondage in Egypt. This was the mighty God, who had parted the Red Sea for his people and then destroyed the Egyptian army. This was the almighty God for whom nothing is impossible. God would be his source of strength.

To rely on God’s strength, there was something Joshua needed to do. God said, “Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you.” How could he do this? God said in verse 8a, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it.” The Book of the Law was the record of God’s words written by Moses in the Bible. God’s words are more than letters on a page. They are inspired by the Holy Spirit. They are living and active, and they reveal God to us. Through God’s words, we can discover God himself–his power and love, his holiness and judgment, his saving grace, his eternal kingdom, and more. From a gospel perspective, the purpose of Bible study is to know Jesus Christ, receive his forgiving grace and to live a new life by the power of the Holy Spirit. When we have Christ in our hearts, we can obey the will of God, we can speak life-giving words to others and be a blessing. Any kind of person can become strong, courageous and a blessing when the word of God dwells in their hearts. The word of God is most precious–more than any human ideas, people’s advice, or noise of the world. Without the word of God we are mere flesh, weak and prone to sin. This is why it was vital for Joshua to have the word of God always on his lips and to meditate on it day and night. My first prayer topic is to love and obey the word of God, have Christ in my heart always, and to be strong and courageous to do God’s will.

Second, God’s vision. God had brought the Israelites to the promised land to conquer and occupy it according to his own purpose. It was not just for them to enjoy a comfortable life, but to fulfill God’s vision as a kingdom of priests and a holy nation (Ex 19:6). This was a prototype of Jesus Christ’s conquest of the dominion of darkness (Col 1:13), and spreading the gospel message through his people. 1 Peter 2:9 says, “But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” God has such a great vision and  purpose for us today. Jesus’ final words to his church, in Matthew 28:18-20, were these: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” The first generation of UBF leaders accepted this command with faith and obeyed it, sacrificing much. Then God blessed them to send thousands of missionaries to more than 90 countries. These self-supporting gospel workers are now standing firm, like an Army Ranger advance force in the spiritual battle. Thank God for the great victories given to the first generation.

Now, the next generation must carry on–supporting, developing and advancing the mission in each ministry. In many cases our ministries are still on the fringes of campuses and cultures. We must penetrate more deeply to evangelize leaders in the mainstream of each nation. Through a few leaders, the gospel can transform a campus. When university campuses are won for Christ, nations are won for Christ. This can happen in our generation. The book of Acts tells us how the gospel spread from Jerusalem to Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth in one generation. The motto of the Student Volunteer movement was “The evangelization of the world in this generation.” With that vision thousands of missionaries from North America went out to the world, including Mother Sarah Barry. Dr. Samuel Lee and early UBF leaders often said, “Bible Korea, World Mission, Expand your tents!” As they prayed and obeyed, thousands of missionaries went out in their generation. Our mighty God can do great things in our own generation. What about now? Every campus where his servants are now standing can be transformed to bless a nation. Let’s see the vision of world salvation through campus ministry in our generation. As William Carey said, we should “expect great things from God and attempt great things for God.”

The first generation had to overcome many challenges to advance the gospel, and so must we. Sometimes our ministries do not grow as fast as we hope. Among other things, cultural and generational barriers hinder us. We need to break through these barriers by God’s power. As we listen to the word of God together, and obey the word of God together, the Holy Spirit will help us. We can experience a new era of the gospel’s spread.

It is my prayer to encourage cross-cultural, intergenerational ministry. My motto may be “Working together for God’s mission, crossing cultures and generations.” After becoming GD-elect, I traveled to Korea with my wife and met P. Moses Yoon, P. Moses Kim and many staff members and leaders. They warmly welcomed us and were eager to communicate freely and pray together. There is a tremendous opportunity. To facilitate this I have asked some mature gospel workers to serve together with me for the next four years: Dr. Henry Park (Vice GD), P. John Seo (International Coordinator), P. Teddy Hembekides (NA Coordinator), P. Mark Vucekovich (Chicago Senior Pastor), M. David Kim (World Mission Dept. Chair), Dr. Augustine Suh (Ed. Dept. Chair), and Dr. Ezra Cho (Online Forum Chair). We formed a steering committee and began to pray together for the ISBC 2023. We invited P. Caleb Kim (World Mission Chair) and P. John Lee (N. America rep.) from Korea. God has blessed our prayer and given us wisdom and joy. It is a good beginning.

While the coworking of Korea and North America is vital, we must also work together in many other ways. Headquarters ministry must be closely connected to leaders on all mission fields. I plan to invite the International Executive Board to meet together more frequently to pray for and serve our entire ministry. I will work together with continental leaders to empower new generation leaders and support their spiritual development and ministerial opportunities. I also plan to visit UBF chapters extensively. Next month, I am scheduled to visit seven nations in Latin America, accompanied by my wife. After that, we plan to attend the four regional conferences in Africa. I will try to find ways to strengthen and support our missionaries and native leaders and to mobilize prayer support. May God bless us as we work together to carry out his mission.

Though God has done great work over the past 60 years, in some ways we are still in a pioneering stage of world campus mission. Many nations, cities and campuses are waiting for UBF missionaries and shepherds to come and share the word of God with them. I pray for mission revival, that the Lord Jesus may raise workers for his harvest field. Through the ISBC 2023, titled “His Glory,” we pray that many young people may see Jesus’ glory and catch God’s vision. We welcome anyone from any nation who is able to come. We plan a special leaders conference for missionaries and national leaders, and a vision camp for young people. And for those outside of North America who cannot come in person, we will try to provide an effective online experience. May our mighty God raise a new generation of mission workers!

God’s words to Joshua in 1:7 contain both a warning and a promise. The warning is “...do not turn from it to the right or to the left.” Holding firmly to the gospel message and God’s vision for world mission require spiritual struggle. Evil forces tempt us to compromise through liberalism, nationalism, humanism, and the like. Temptations come from the right and from the left. But we must never, ever compromise the gospel truth, no matter what. We must keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, hold onto the gospel truth, and obey the world mission command as a matter of life and death. Then what will happen? The Lord says, “...that you may be successful wherever you go.” It means that new leaders will be raised in every nation who stand firm in the gospel, proclaiming God’s kingdom, fulfilling God’s vision. We will advance in becoming a royal priesthood and a holy nation that includes people of every tribe and language.

At this time, I ask you to pray for me to serve as the General Director for the next four years, and to pray for our UBF ministry.

ESFUÉRZATE, OBEDECE Y CONQUISTA LA TIERRA

¡Buenas noches! ¡Anyong Jasimniká! ¡Good Night! ¡Gutten Abend! ¡Dobre Vejer! En primer lugar, me uno a toda la comunidad de UBF para dar gracias a Dios por utilizar al P. Moisés Yoon como nuestro Director General durante los últimos cuatro años. Él ha compartido las palabras vivas de Dios con nosotros fielmente, dándonos dirección espiritual y ánimo durante una pandemia global. Ha sido una gran bendición haber servido bajo su liderazgo y haberme convertido en su amigo.

Como su período está terminando, ahora estoy aquí para ser el próximo Director General del ministerio de UBF. La gracia de mi Señor Jesucristo es realmente sorprendente. Había recibido entrenamiento bajo Moisés durante décadas. Conocía la fe y el espíritu de Moisés, y la visión de Dios para Israel. Parecía totalmente preparado para liderar. Sin embargo, el Señor conocía su corazón y le dijo: “Esfuérzate y sé muy valiente”. Lo más probable es que Josué se sintiera débil e inadecuado. Moisés había sido un líder épico, el fundador. Ningún sucesor podía estar a la altura. Además, ser un máximo líder es una gran responsabilidad. A partir de ahora, Josué tendría que tomar decisiones difíciles y asumir las consecuencias. Podía esperar muchas demandas y quejas. Sobre todo, tenía que enfrentarse a fuertes enemigos: ejércitos enemigos desde fuera y las sutiles tentaciones de las culturas idólatras desde dentro. Era demasiado para cualquier ser humano. Josué necesitaba fuerza, fuerza celestial. ¿De dónde vendría esta fuerza?

Dios le dijo a Josué: “Esfuérzate y sé muy valiente”. Cuando la palabra de Dios instruyó a Josué, el poder de Dios entró en su corazón. Pudo apartar su mente de las dificultades para dirigirse al Dios grande y asombroso. Este era el Dios que rompió el poderoso control del Faraón y liberó a los israelitas de la esclavitud en Egipto. Este era el Dios poderoso que había dividido el Mar Rojo para su pueblo y luego destruyó el ejército egipcio. Este era el Dios todopoderoso para quien nada es imposible. Dios sería la fuente de su fuerza.

Para confiar en la fuerza de Dios, había algo que Josué debía hacer. Dios le dijo: “Ten cuidado de obedecer toda la ley que te dio mi siervo Moisés”. ¿Cómo podía hacer esto? Dios dijo en el versículo 8a: “Nunca se apartará de tu boca este libro de la ley, sino que de día y de noche meditarás en él, para que guardes y hagas conforme a todo lo que en él está escrito”. A través de las palabras de Dios, podemos descubrir a Dios mismo: su poder y su amor, su santidad y su juicio, su gracia salvadora, su reino eterno y mucho más. Desde una perspectiva evangélica, el propósito del estudio de la Biblia es conocer a Jesucristo, recibir su gracia perdonadora y vivir una vida nueva por el poder del Espíritu Santo. Cuando tenemos a Cristo en nuestros corazones, podemos obedecer la voluntad de Dios, podemos hablar palabras que dan vida a otros y ser una bendición. Cualquier tipo de persona puede llegar a ser fuerte, valiente y una bendición cuando la palabra de Dios mora en su corazón. La palabra de Dios es muy valiosa, más que cualquier idea humana, consejo de la gente o ruido del mundo. Sin la palabra de Dios somos mera carne, débil y propensa al pecado. Por eso era vital para Josué tener la palabra de Dios siempre en sus labios y meditar en ella día y noche. Mi primer tópico de oración es amar y obedecer la palabra de Dios, tener a Cristo en mi corazón siempre, y ser fuerte y valiente para hacer la voluntad de Dios.

Segundo, la visión de Dios. Dios había llevado a los israelitas a la tierra prometida para conquistarla y ocuparla según su propio propósito. No era sólo para que disfrutaran de una vida cómoda, sino para que cumplieran la visión de Dios como un reino de sacerdotes y una nación santa (Ex. 19:6). Esto era un prototipo de la conquista de Jesucristo del dominio de las tinieblas (Col. 1:13), y de la difusión del mensaje del Evangelio a través de su pueblo. “Mas vosotros sois linaje escogido, real sacerdocio, nación santa, pueblo adquirido por Dios, para que anunciéis las virtudes de aquel que os llamó de las tinieblas a su luz admirable”. Dios tiene una visión y un propósito tan grande para nosotros hoy. Las últimas palabras de Jesús a su iglesia, en Mateo 28:18-20, fueron estas “Toda potestad me es dada en el cielo y en la tierra. Por tanto, id, y haced discípulos a todas las naciones, bautizándolos en el nombre del Padre, y del Hijo, y del Espíritu Santo; enseñándoles que guarden todas las cosas que os he mandado; y he aquí yo estoy con vosotros todos los días, hasta el fin del mundo.” La primera generación de líderes de UBF aceptó este mandato con fe y lo obedeció, sacrificando mucho. Entonces Dios los bendijo para que enviaran miles de misioneros a más de 90 países. Estos obreros del evangelio que se sostienen a sí mismos están ahora firmes, como una fuerza de avanzada de comandos del Ejército en la batalla espiritual. Gracias a Dios por las grandes victorias otorgadas a la primera generación.

Ahora, la siguiente generación debe seguir apoyando, desarrollando y avanzando la misión en cada ministerio. En muchos casos, nuestros ministerios están todavía en los márgenes de los campus y las culturas. Debemos penetrar más profundamente para evangelizar a los líderes en la cultura dominante de cada nación. A través de unos pocos líderes, el evangelio puede transformar un campus. Cuando los campus universitarios son ganados para Cristo, las naciones son ganadas para Cristo. Esto puede suceder en nuestra generación. El libro de los Hechos nos cuenta cómo el evangelio se extendió desde Jerusalén hasta Judea y Samaria, y hasta los confines de la tierra en una sola generación. El lema del movimiento de Estudiantes Voluntarios fue “La evangelización del mundo en esta generación”. Nuestro poderoso Dios puede hacer grandes cosas en nuestra propia generación. ¿Y ahora? Cada campus donde sus siervos están ahora puede ser transformado para bendecir a una nación. Tengamos la visión de la salvación mundial a través del ministerio universitario en nuestra generación. Como dijo William Carey, debemos “esperar grandes cosas de Dios e intentar grandes cosas para Dios”.

La primera generación tuvo que superar muchos desafíos para hacer avanzar el evangelio, y lo mismo debemos hacer nosotros. A veces nuestros ministerios no crecen tan rápido como esperamos. Entre otras cosas, las barreras culturales y generacionales nos obstaculizan. Tenemos que romper estas barreras con el poder de Dios. Mientras escuchamos juntos la palabra de Dios y obedecemos juntos la palabra de Dios, el Espíritu Santo nos ayudará. Podemos experimentar una nueva era de difusión del Evangelio.

Es mi oración fomentar el ministerio intercultural e intergeneracional. Mi lema puede ser “Trabajando juntos para la misión de Dios, cruzando culturas y generaciones”. Después de convertirme en Director General electo, viajé a Corea con mi esposa y me reuní con el P. Moisés Yoon, el P. Moses Kim y muchos miembros y líderes. Nos dieron una calurosa bienvenida y estaban ansiosos por comunicarse libremente y orar juntos. Es una gran oportunidad. Aunque el trabajo conjunto de Corea y Norteamérica es vital, también debemos trabajar juntos de muchas otras maneras. El ministerio de la Sede Central debe estar estrechamente conectado con los líderes de todos los campos de misión. Tengo previsto invitar al Comité Ejecutivo Internacional a reunirse con más frecuencia para orar por todo nuestro ministerio y servirlo. Trabajaré junto con los líderes continentales para capacitar a los líderes de la nueva generación y apoyar su desarrollo espiritual y sus oportunidades ministeriales. También tengo previsto visitar extensamente los capítulos de UBF. El mes que viene tengo previsto visitar siete países de América Latina, acompañado de mi esposa. Después, tenemos previsto asistir a las cuatro conferencias regionales de África. Trataré de encontrar formas de fortalecer y apoyar a nuestros misioneros y líderes nativos y de movilizar el apoyo de la oración. Que Dios nos bendiga mientras trabajamos juntos para llevar a cabo su misión.

Aunque Dios ha hecho una gran obra en los últimos 60 años, en cierto modo todavía estamos en una etapa pionera de la misión universitaria mundial. Muchas naciones, ciudades y campus están esperando que los misioneros y pastores de UBF vengan a compartir la palabra de Dios con ellos. Oro por un avivamiento misionero, para que el Señor Jesús levante obreros para su mies. A través de la ISBC 2023, titulada “Su Gloria”, oramos para que muchos jóvenes puedan ver la gloria de Jesús y captar la visión de Dios. Damos la bienvenida a cualquier persona de cualquier nación que pueda venir. Planeamos una conferencia especial de líderes para misioneros y líderes nacionales, y un campamento de visión para jóvenes. Y para aquellos fuera de Norteamérica que no puedan venir en persona, trataremos de proporcionar una experiencia efectiva en línea. ¡Que nuestro poderoso Dios levante una nueva generación de obreros misioneros!

Las palabras de Dios a Josué en 1:7 contienen tanto una advertencia como una promesa. La advertencia es “...no te apartes de ella ni a la derecha ni a la izquierda”. Mantener firmemente el mensaje del Evangelio y la visión de Dios para la Misión Mundial requiere una lucha espiritual. Las fuerzas del mal nos tientan a transigir a través del liberalismo, el nacionalismo, el humanismo y otras cosas similares. Las tentaciones vienen de la derecha y de la izquierda. Pero nunca, nunca, debemos comprometer la verdad del evangelio, pase lo que pase. Debemos mantener nuestros ojos puestos en Jesús, aferrarnos a la verdad del Evangelio y obedecer el mandato de la Misión Mundial como una cuestión de vida o muerte. Entonces, ¿qué sucederá? El Señor dice: “... para que seas prosperado en todas las cosas que emprendas”. Significa que se levantarán nuevos líderes en cada nación que se mantengan firmes en el evangelio, proclamando el reino de Dios, cumpliendo la visión de Dios. Avanzaremos para llegar a ser un real sacerdocio y una nación santa que incluya a personas de toda tribu y lengua.

En este momento, les pido que oren por mí para servir como Director General durante los próximos cuatro años, y que oren por nuestro ministerio de UBF.

안녕하십니까? 무엇보다 먼저 전체 UBF 공통체와 함께

지난 4년동안 윤모세 목사님을 세계대표로 사용해주신 하나님께 감사드립니다. 윤모세 목사님께서는 세계적인 코로나 대유행 동안 저희에게 하나님의 살아있는 말씀을 신실하게 나누어 주시고 영적인 방향과 격려를 주셨습니다. 그의 리더쉽하에 섬기고 그의 친구가 된 것은 저희에게 커다란 축복이었습니다.

그의 임기가 끝남에 따라 저는 이제 UBF 사역의 차기 세계대표 되기 위해 이 자리에 섰습니다. 내 주 예수 그리스도의 은혜는 참으로 놀랍습니다. 하나님게서는 저를 죄에서 구원해 주셨고 아메리칸 드림의 추종자에서 하나님 나라에 대한 산 소망을 가지고 그나라의 백성을 섬기는 목자로 변화시켜 주셨습니다.나의 주 예수 그리스도께 감사와 찬양을 드립니다! 예수님의 은혜는 제가 감사드리는 많은 하나님의 종들을 통해 저에게 드러났습니다. 먼저 故 이 사무엘 박사님과 이은혜 사모님께 감사합니다. 이 박사님은 저의 연약함과 부족함에도 불구하고 하나님의 소망으로 저를 보셨습니다. 18년 동안 옆에서 일할 수 있는 특권을 주셨고, 나를 아들처럼 사랑해 주셨습니다. M. Sarah Barry께서는 40년 넘게 저를 위해 전심으로 기도해 주셨습니다. 이분의 영적지원은 결정적인 것이었습니다. 또한 나의 원래 목자님이신 김아브라함 목자님과 김사라 사모님, 전요한 박사님과 전사라 사모님, 양마가 목자님과 양안나 사모님, 최이삭, 레베카 선교사님, 그리고 Mark Vucekovich, Teddy Hembekides, Kevin Albright 목자님들, 전체 시카고 UBF 공동체와, 그리고 세계 각지에 있는 주님안에서 친구된 모든 분들께 감사를 드립니다. 그리고 저의 멘토들이신 Wheaton College 의 Scott Moreau 박사님과 John Armstrong 께도 감사를 드립니다. 무엇보다 지난 37년 동안 여섯 아이를 낳고 키우며 가정을 꾸리면서 저를 지원해준 사랑하는 아내 Dervilla에게 감사합니다. 그녀는 자신을 희생하여 내가 하나님을 자유롭게 섬길 수 있도록 했습니다. 그녀가 없었다면 나는 오늘 이 자리에 없었을 것입니다. 저는 저의 놀라운 자녀들인Sarah, David, Rebekah, John, Danie, Joshua, 그리고 노력하지 않고도 항상 나에게 활력을 주는 손자들인 Abigail, Amelia 그리고Penelope 에게 감사합니다.

제가 하나님의 인도하심을 간구할 때 성령께서 여호수아 1장 7절 말씀으로 감동을 주셨습니다.  하나님께서는 여호수아에게 “오직 강하고 극히 담대하여 나의 종 모세가 네게 명령한 그 율법을 다 지켜 행하고 우로나 좌로나 치우치지 말라 그리하면 어디로 가든지 형통하리니” 라고 하셨습니다. 그 때에 이스라엘 백성은 약속의 땅 입구에 서 있었습니다. 하나님께서는  모세를 통해 그 백성을 애굽의 종살이에서 이끌어 내시고 광야에서 40년 동안 훈련시키셨습니다.모세는 그들의 위대한 목자였지만 그들을 약속의 땅으로 인도하지 않았습니다. 하나님은 여호수아에게 그의 백성을 인도하여 약속의 땅을 정복하고 차지할 사명을 주셨습니다. 하나님은 자기 백성이 발을 딛는 모든 곳을 주시겠다고 약속하셨습니다. 그러나 이것은 강한 적들과 싸워야 하는 것을 요구하는 일이었습니다. 하나님께서 그들과 함께하실 것이지만 그 일은 어려운 일이었습니다. 그래서 하나님께서는 여호수아에게 강하도록 명령하시고 강해지는 법을 가르치시며, 경고와 약속을 주셨습니다.

첫째, “강하고 담대하며, 하나님의 말씀에 순종하라”. 모세는 죽기 전에 온 이스라엘에게 “강하고 담대하라”(신 31:6)고 말했습니다. 모세도 온 이스라엘 앞에서 이 말씀을 여호수아에게 두 번이나 말했습니다(신 31:7,23). 그리고 이제 하나님께서 친히 이 말씀을 여호수아에게 1:6-9에서 세 번 반복하십니다. 여호수아에게 가장 중요한 것은 강하고 담대한 것이었습니다. 이 말씀은 여호수아가 약하고 두려워 해서가 아니었습니다. 여호수아는 자신이 용기와 믿음의 사람임을 증명해왔었습니다. 그는 수십 년 동안 모세 밑에서 훈련을 받았습니다. 그는 모세의 믿음과 정신, 그리고 이스라엘에 대한 하나님의 비전을 알고 있었습니다. 그는 이끌 준비가 완전히 된 것처럼 보였습니다. 그러나 주님은 그의 마음을 아시고 “강하고 담대하라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 아마도 여호수아는 약하고 적합하지 않다고 느꼈을 것입니다. 모세는 탁월한 지도자이자 창시자였습니다. 어떤 후계자도 그에 견줄 수가 없었습니다. 또한 최고 리더가 되는 것은 막중한 책임입니다.이제부터 여호수아는 어려운 결정을 내리고 그 결과를 감수해야 했습니다. 그는 많은 요구와 불만을 예상할 수 있었습니다. 무엇보다도 그는 강한 적, 즉 외부의 적군과 내부의 미묘한 우상숭배적인 문화의 유혹들에 맞서야 했습니다. 인간이 감당하기에는 너무 큰 도전이었다. 여호수아에게는 하늘의 힘이 필요했습니다. 이 힘은 어디에서 올까요? 하나님은 여호수아에게 “강하고 담대하라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 하나님의 말씀이 여호수아에게 지시된 대로 하나님의 능력이 그의 심령에 들어왔습니다. 그는 그의 마음을 모든 어려움으로부터 위대하고 경의로운 하나님께로 돌릴 수 있었습니다. 이 하나님은 바로의 강한 손아귀를 깨뜨리시고 이스라엘 백성을 애굽의 종살이에서 구출하신 그 하나님이셨습니다. 이 하나님은 자기 백성을 위해 홍해를 가르시고 애굽 군대를 멸하신 전능하신 하나님이셨습니다. 이 하나님은 불가능이 없는 전능하신 하나님이셨습니다. 이 전능하신 하나님께서 여호사아의 힘의 근원이 되실 것이었습니다.

하나님의 능력을 의지하기 위해서는 여호수아가 해야 할 일이 있었습니다. 하나님은 “너는 나의 종 모세가 네게 명령한 모든 율법을 다 지켜 행하라”고 말씀하셨습니다. 그가 어떻게 그렇게 할 수 있습니까? 하나님은 8a절에서 “이 율법책을 항상 네 입술에 두라. 주야로 그것을 묵상하여 그 안에 기록된 대로 다 지켜 행하라.” 율법책은 성경에 안에 있는 모세에 의해 쓰여진 하나님의 말씀의 기록입니다. 하나님의 말씀은 단순히 책의 한 페이지에 쓰여진 글자 그 이상입니다. 성경안의 모든 말씀은 성령의 감동을 받았습니다. 이 말씀은 살아 있고 운동력이 있으며 우리에게 하나님을 나타냅니다. 하나님의 말씀을 통해 우리는 하나님 자신, 즉 그의 권능과 사랑, 그의 거룩하심과 심판하심, 구원하시는 은혜, 그의 영원한 나라, 그리고 더 많은 것을 발견할 수 있습니다. 복음적 관점에서 볼 때 성경공부의 목적은 예수 그리스도를 알고 용서하는 은혜를 받고 성령의 능력으로 새 삶을 사는 것입니다. 우리 마음에 그리스도가 있을 때 하나님의 뜻에 순종할 수 있고 다른 사람에게 생명의 말씀을 전할 수 있고 축복이 될 수 있습니다. 어떤 사람이든지 하나님의 말씀이 그의 마음에 거하면 강하고 담대하며 다른 이들에게 축복이 될 수 있습니다. 하나님의 말씀은 어떤 인간의 생각들이나 사람들의 조언이나 세상의 소음위에 가장 귀합니다. 하나님의 말씀이 없으면 우리는 육신에 불과하고 연약하고 죄를 짓기 쉽습니다. 그래서 여호수아에게 하나님의 말씀을 항상 입에 담고 주야로 묵상하는 것이 결정적으로 중요했습니다. 나의 첫 번째 기도제목은 하나님의 말씀을 사랑하고 순종하며, 항상 그리스도를 내 마음에 모시고, 강하고 담대하게 하나님의 뜻을 행하는 것입니다.

둘째, 하나님의 비전입니다. 하나님은 이스라엘 백성을 약속의 땅으로 인도하여 자신의 뜻대로 정복하고 차지하게 하셨습니다. 안락한 삶을 누리는 것이 아니라 제사장 나라 거룩한 나라로서 하나님의 비전을 이루기 위함이었습니다(출 19:6). 이것은 예수 그리스도께서 흑암의 권세를 이기셨고(골 1:13) 그의 백성을 통해 복음 메시지를 전파하신 전형이었습니다. 베드로전서 2장 9절에 “오직 너희는 택하신 족속이요 왕 같은 제사장들이요 거룩한 나라요 그의 소유가 된 백성이니 이는 너희를 어두운 데서 불러 내어 그의 기이한 빛에 들어가게 하신 이의 아름다운 덕을 선포하게 하려 하심이라”고 했습니다. 하나님은 오늘날 우리를 향한 위대한 비전과 목적을 갖고 계십니다. 마태복음 28장 18-20절에서 예수님이 교회에 하신 마지막 말씀은 이러했습니다. “하늘과 땅의 모든 권세를 내게 주셨으니. 그러므로 너희는 가서 모든 족속으로 제자를 삼아 아버지와 아들과 성령의 이름으로 세례를 주고 내가 너희에게 분부한 모든 것을 가르쳐 지키게 하라. 볼지어다 내가 세상 끝날까지 너희와 항상 함께 있으리라 하시니라.” UBF 1세대 지도자들은 이 명령을 믿음으로 받아들이고 많은 것을 희생하며 말씀에 순종하했습니다. 그러자 하나님께서는 수천 명의 선교사를 90개국 이상에 파송하도록 축복하셨습니다. 이 자립 복음 사역자들은 영적 전쟁에서 특수전진부대처럼 지금 굳건히 서 있습니다. 1세대에게 큰 승리를 주신 하나님께 감사드립니다.

지금은 다음 세대가 UBF 내 각 사역의 역사를 지원하고 발전시키며 앞으로 나아가도록 하는 일을 계속해야 합니다. 많은 경우에 우리 사역들은 여전히 캠퍼스와 문화의 변두리에 있습니다. 각 나라 주류사회의 지도자들을 복음화하기 위해 더 깊이 침투해 들어가야합니다. 소수의 리더들을 통해 복음은 한 캠퍼스를 변화 시킬수 있습니다. 대학 캠퍼스들이 그리스도를 위해 얻어질 때 나라들이 그리스도를 위해 얻어질 수 있습니다. 이 일은 우리 세대에서 일어날 수 있습니다. 사도행전은 복음이 어떻게 한 세대에 예루살렘에서 유대와 사마리아로, 그리고 땅끝까지 전파되었는지 보여줍니다. 학생자원선교운동(Student Volunteer movement)의 모토는 “우리 세대의 세계복음화”였습니다. 그 비전을 가지고 사라 배리 수녀를 포함하여 북미에서 온 수천 명의 선교사들이 세계로 나갔습니다. 이사무엘 박사님과 초기 UBF 지도자들은 “성경한국, 세계선교, 장막터를 넓혀라!”라고 외쳤습니다. 그들이 기도하고 순종할 때 수천 명의 선교사들이 자신들의 세대에 온 세계로 나갔습니다.  우리의 전능하신 하나님은 우리 시대에 위대한 일을 행하실 수 있습니다. 지금은 어떻습니까?  하나님의 종들이 지금 서 있는 모든 캠퍼스는 변화되어 한 나라의 복의 근원될 수 있습니다. 캠퍼스 사역을 통해 만민구원 역사가 우리 세대에 이루지는 비젼을 봅시다. William Carey가 말했듯이 우리는 "하나님으로부터 위대한 일을 기대하고 하나님을 위해 위대한 일을 시도해야 합니다." 1세대는 복음을 전하기 위해 많은 도전들을 극복해야 했습니다. 우리도 그렇게 해야만 합니다. 때때로 우리의 사역은 우리가 바라는 만큼 빨리 성장하지 않습니다. 무엇보다도 문화적, 세대적 장벽이 우리를 가로막습니다. 우리는 하나님의 능력으로 이러한 장벽을 허물어야 합니다. 우리가 함께 하나님의 말씀을 듣고, 함께 하나님의 말씀에 순종할 때 성령께서 우리를 도우실 것입니다. 우리는 복음 전파의 새 시대를 경험할 수 있습니다.

다문화, 세대간 사역을 격려하는 것이 또한 저의 기도입니다. 저의 모토는 “문화와 세대를 초월하여 하나님의 역사를 위해 함께 일하라”일 것입니다. 세계대표로 선정된후 아내와 함께 한국을 방문하여 윤모세, 김모세 목자님 등 많은 스탭 목자님들과 리더들을 만났습니다. 그들은 우리를 따뜻하게 환영했고 자유롭게 의사 소통하고 함께기도하기를 열망했습니다. 엄청게 많은 기회가 있습니다. 이것을 용이하게 하기 위해 나는 몇몇 성숙한 종들께  앞으로 4년 동안 저와 함께 섬길 것을 요청했습니다. 그 분들은 박헨리 선교사(부세계대표),  서요한 선교사(국제 코디네이터), Teddy Hembekides 목자(북미 코디네이터),  Mark Vucekovich 목자(시카고 UBF 디렉터), 김다윗 선교사(세계선교부장), 서어거스틴 선교사(교육부장), 조에스라 선교사(온라인 포럼 부장) 입니다. 저희는 운영위원회를 구성하고 ISBC 2023을 위해 함께 기도하기 시작했습니다. 우리는 한국에서 김 갈렙 목자님(세계선교부장)과  이요한 목자님(북미 대표)를 초청했습니다. 하나님은 우리의 기도를 축복하시고 지혜와 기쁨을 주셨습니다. 좋은 시작이다.

한국과 북미의 협력도 매우 중요하지만 우리는 또한 여러 가지 방법으로 함께 일해야합니다. 본부 사역은 모든 선교 분야의 리더들과 밀접하게 연결되어야 합니다. 저는 국제 집행 위원회(International Executive Board)가 우리의 전체 사역을 위해 기도하고 봉사하기 위해 더 자주 함께 모이도록 초대할 계획입니다. 저는 대륙  리더들과 함께 협력하여 차세대 리더들을 북돋우고 그들의 영적 발전과 사역의기회를 지원하기 위해 노력할 것입니다. 또한 UBF 지부들을 광범위하게 방문할 계획입니다. 다음 달에는 아내와 함께 라틴 아메리카 7개국을 방문할 예정입니다. 그 후 아프리카에서 열리는 4개 지역 컨퍼런스에 참석할 예정입니다. 저는 선교사들과 현지 리더들을 더 힘있게하고 지원하며 기도 지원을 동원할 수 있는 방법을 찾기 위해 노력할 것입니다. 우리가 그분께서 주신 사명을 수행하기 위해 함께 일할 때 하나님께서 우리를 축복하시기를 빕니다.

지난 60년 동안 하나님께서 큰 일을 하셨지만, 우리는 여전히 세계캠퍼스 선교의 개척 단계에 있습니다. 많은 나라와 도시와 캠퍼스가 UBF 선교사와 목자들이 와서 하나님의 말씀을 전하기를 기다리고 있습니다. 주 예수님께서 추수할 일꾼들을 세워주시도록 선교부흥을 위해 기도합니다. “그의 영광”이라는 타이틀의 ISBC 2023을 통해 많은 젊은이들이 예수님의 영광을 보고 하나님의 비전을 붙잡을 수 있기를 기도합니다. 오실 수 있는 모든 국가의 모든 분들을 환영합니다. 선교사들과 국가  리더들을 위한 특별 리더 수양회와 젊은 세대들을 위한 비전캠프를 계획하고 있습니다. 그리고 북미 이외의 지역에서 직접 방문할 수 없는 분들을 위해 효과적인 온라인 참여을 제공하기 위해 노력할 것입니다. 우리의 전능하신 하나님께서 새로운 선교사역자들 세대를 일으키시기를 기도합니다!

하나님께서 여호수아에게  1:7에서 하신 말씀 에는 경고와 약속이 모두 포함되어 있습니다. 경고는 "...오른쪽이나 왼쪽으로 치우치지 말고."입니다. 복음의 메시지와 세계선교를 향한 하나님의 비전을 굳게 붙잡으려면 영적 투쟁이 필요합니다. 악의 세력은 자유주의, 국가민족주의, 인본주의 등을 통해 타협하도록 유혹합니다. 유혹은 오른쪽과 왼쪽에서 옵니다. 그러나 우리는 무슨 일이 있어도 복음 진리를 결코 타협해서는 안 됩니다. 우리는 예수님께 눈을 고정시키고, 복음 진리를 붙잡고, 삶과 죽음의 문제로 세계선교의 명령에 순종해야 합니다. 그러면 어떻게 될까요? 주님은 "...네가 어디로 가든지 형통하게 하려 함이라"고 말씀하십니다. 그것은 각 나라마다 복음에 굳게 서서 하나님 나라를 선포하며 하나님의 비전을 이루는 새로운 지도자들이 세워질 것이라는 의미입니다. 우리는 모든 족속과 방언을 아우르는 왕 같은 제사장과 거룩한 나라가 되는 것에 계속해서 전진해 나아갈 것입니다.

이제 제가 앞으로 4년 동안  세계대표로 봉사할 수 있도록 기도해 주시고, 우리 UBF 사역을 위해 기도해 주시기 바랍니다.

I was appointed as the 5th General Director of our community exactly 4 years ago. During this time, I have served this office only through God's one-sided mercy and grace. It was an amazing grace and privilege for me to serve our UBF community as the General Director, receiving heartfelt love and prayers from countless co-workers around the world. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to God and to all of you.

Above all, I would like to thank Missionary Mother Barry, Grace A Lee, and Dr. John Jun for their deep love and prayers. I thank my wife Sarah Yoon for her prayers, and those who closely supported me, P. Ron Ward, M. David Kim, Dr. Augustine Sohn and the NA Elders, P. Teddy, P. Mark, Dr. Suh, Dr. Ezra Cho, M. Helen, and M. Joshua Min. If I mention each person individually, there would be no end to this address. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all those who have served me by bearing with my shortcomings and weaknesses.

For two and a half of the past four years, there have been restrictions on traveling and gatherings due to the Covid pandemic. However, I am thankful that God gave us his grace to serve God's work through online ministries. The rapidly changing world makes us study and pray a lot about how to serve the campus discipleship ministry more effectively. For this, we must pray. Jesus prayed often. Before important tasks such as raising the twelve apostles, he devoted himself to prayer. Jesus was humble, acknowledging that he could not overcome all temptations through his own strength and relied only on God the Father. When Jesus was on this earth, he always called God “Father,” like a beloved son calls his father “Daddy.” Jesus now tells his disciples to call God “Father” in the same way.

Jesus teaches us what to pray first as children of God. It is to pray, "Hallowed be your name, and your kingdom come." Some people live for money and some live for worldly success. But the purpose of our lives as children of God is for the kingdom of God to come to this earth; it is to see his name hallowed as King. The glory of God is revealed through our words and lives, and the kingdom of God comes when we learn and teach the Word of God. I am deeply grateful for God’s grace in saving us and calling us as Bible teachers serving campus students in this generation. It is our mission and purpose of life to be grateful for this grace and to expand his kingdom by preaching the word to the whole world for his kingdom and glory. As the late Dr. Samuel Lee, the founder of our community, prayed, may we continue to serve as a kingdom of priests and holy nation.

I would especially like to thank P. Ron Ward for working with me wholeheartedly as the Vice GD during my tenure. Now, as an emeritus General Director, I will support him as best I can and pray that our community will continue to grow into a community of truth and love. Let us continue to pray that our community will be used as a world mission community that sends 100,000 missionaries by 2041.

Once again, thank you very much for your prayers and love.

Palabras de Despedida del Director General de UBF

Él les dijo: "Cuando oréis, decid: 'Padre, santificado sea tu nombre, venga tu reino'" (Lc 11: 2).

Fui seleccionado como el 5º Director General de nuestra comunidad hace exactamente 4 años. Durante este tiempo, he servido en este cargo solo a través de la misericordia y la gracia unilaterales de Dios. Fue una gracia y un privilegio asombroso para mí servir a nuestra comunidad de UBF como Director General, recibiendo amor sincero y oraciones de innumerables compañeros de trabajo en todo el mundo. Quisiera expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a Dios y a todos ustedes.

Sobre todo, me gustaría agradecer a la misionera madre Barry, Grace A Lee y al Dr. John Jun por su profundo amor y oraciones. Agradezco a mi esposa Sarah Yoon por sus oraciones y a quienes me apoyaron de cerca, P. Ron Ward, M. David Kim, Dr. Augustine Sohn y a los ancianos de NA, P. Teddy, P. Mark, Dr. Suh, Dr. Ezra Cho, M. Helen y M. Joshua Min. Si menciono a cada persona individualmente, esta dirección no tendría fin. Quisiera expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a todos aquellos que me han servido soportando mis defectos y debilidades.

Durante dos años y medio de los últimos cuatro años, ha habido restricciones para viajar y reunirse debido a la pandemia de Covid. Sin embargo, estoy agradecido de que Dios nos haya dado su gracia para servir en la obra de Dios a través de los ministerios en línea. El mundo que cambia rápidamente nos hace estudiar y orar mucho acerca de cómo servir al ministerio de discipulado universitario de manera más efectiva. Para esto, debemos orar. Jesús oraba a menudo. Antes de tareas importantes como levantar a los doce apóstoles, se dedicó a la oración. Jesús fue humilde, reconociendo que no podía vencer todas las tentaciones con sus propias fuerzas y confiando únicamente en Dios Padre. Cuando Jesús estuvo en esta tierra, siempre llamó a Dios “Padre”, como un hijo amado llama a su padre “Papi”. Jesús ahora les dice a sus discípulos que llamen a Dios “Padre” de la misma manera.

Jesús nos enseña qué orar primero como hijos de Dios. Es orar: "Santificado sea tu nombre, y venga tu reino". Algunas personas viven por el dinero y otras viven por el éxito mundano. Pero el propósito de nuestra vida como hijos de Dios es que el reino de Dios venga a esta tierra; es ver su nombre santificado como Rey. La gloria de Dios se revela a través de nuestras palabras y vidas, y el reino de Dios viene cuando aprendemos y enseñamos la Palabra de Dios. Estoy profundamente agradecido por la gracia de Dios al salvarnos y llamarnos como maestros de la Biblia al servicio de los estudiantes universitarios en esta generación. Es nuestra misión y propósito de vida ser agradecidos por esta gracia y expandir su reino predicando la palabra a todo el mundo para su reino y gloria. Como oró el difunto Dr. Samuel Lee, el fundador de nuestra comunidad, que podamos continuar sirviendo como un reino de sacerdotes y una nación santa.

Me gustaría agradecer especialmente al P. Ron Ward por trabajar conmigo con todo su corazón como Vice GD durante mi mandato. Ahora, como Director General emérito, lo apoyaré lo mejor que pueda y orare para que nuestra comunidad continúe creciendo hasta convertirse en una comunidad de verdad y amor. Sigamos orando para que nuestra comunidad sea utilizada como una comunidad misionera mundial que envíe 100.000 misioneros para 2041.

"예수께서 이르시되 너희는 기도할 때에 이렇게 하라 아버지여 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며 나라가 임하옵시며" (누가복음 11:2)

저는 지금부터 4년 전 오늘 우리 모임의 제5대 세계대표로 세움을 받았습니다. 지난 기간 동안 오직 하나님의 일방적인 긍휼과 은혜로 이 직분을 섬겼습니다. 제가 우리 공동체의 대표로 섬기며 전 세계 수많은 동역자님들의 뜨거운 사랑과 기도 지원을 받은 것은 감당할 수 없는 은혜요 축복이었습니다. 부족한 이 종을 위한 사랑과 기도에 대해 하나님께 그리고 여러 선배 목자님들, 선교사님들, 동료, 또한 후배 동역자님들 모두에게 뜨거운 감사를 표하는 바입니다. 무엇보다 Mother Barry 선교사님과 Grace A Lee, 전요한 박사님의 깊은 사랑과 기도에 감사를 드립니다. 저의 아내 Sarah Yoon 선교사님의 기도와, 또한 저의 가장 가까운 동역자로 온 마음으로 동역해 주신 P. Ron Ward, M. David Kim, Dr. Augustine Sohn 및 NA Elders, P. Teddy, P. Mark, Dr. Suh, Dr. Ezra Cho, M. Helen, M. Joshua Min 께 감사드립니다. 일일이 거명을 하자면 끝이 없을 것입니다. 저의 많은 허물과 약점을 감당해주시며 섬겨주신 모든 분들께 진심으로 감사를 드립니다.

지난 임기 4년 중에 2년 반은 코로나 판데믹으로 모임과 이동에 제한이 있었습니다. 그러나 하나님께서 은혜를 주셔서 온라인 사역을 통해 꾸준히 하나님의 역사를 섬길 수 있어서 감사하였습니다. 급변하는 작금의 세상은 우리가 어떻게 하면 더욱 효과적으로 캠퍼스 제자 양성 역사를 섬길 수 있을 것인가에 대해 많은 부분을 연구하고 기도하게 합니다. 무엇보다 우리는 이를 위해 우리는 기도해야 합니다. 예수님은 수시로 기도하셨습니다. 열두 사도를 세우시는 등 중요한 일을 앞두시고는 더욱 기도에 힘쓰셨습니다. 예수님은 겸손하셔서 자신의 힘으로는 모든 시험을 이길 수 없음을 인정하시고 오직 아버지 하나님을 의지하셨습니다. 예수님은 이 땅에 계실 때 하나님을 언제나 '아버지'라고 부르셨습니다. 사랑받는 아들이 '"아빠'라고 부르듯 하셨습니다. 예수님이 이제 제자들에게 하나님을 그와 같이 '아버지'로 부르라하십니다.

그리고 우리가 하나님의 자녀로서 가장 우선적으로 기도해야할 바를 가르쳐 주십니다. 그것은 "아버지의 이름이 거룩히 여김을 받으시오며 나라가 임하옵시며"입니다. 사람들은 돈을 위해 살기도 하고 세상의 성공을 위해 살기도합니다. 그러나 우리 하나님의 자녀들의 삶의 목적은 하나님의 나라가 이 땅에 임하는 것입니다. 하나님이 왕으로 영광 받으시는 것입니다. 우리의 선한 말과 삶을 통해 하나님의 영광이 나타납니다. 하나님의 말씀을 배우고 가르칠 때 하나님의 나라가 임합니다. 우리를 구원해주시고 이 시대에 캠퍼스 학생들을 섬기는 성경선생으로 불러주신 은혜를 깊이 감사드립니다. 이를 늘 감사하며 오직 그의 나라와 영광을 위해 말씀을 온 세상에 전파함으로 그의 나라를 확장해 나아가는 것이 우리의 받은바 사명이요 인생 목적임을 믿습니다. 우리 모임의 설립자 고 이사무엘 선교사님의 기도처럼, 우리 공동체가 계속해서 제사장 나라 거룩한 백성으로 귀히 쓰임받기를 기도합니다.

지난 4년간 P. Ron Ward 목자님이 부세계대표로 저를 온 마음을 다해 동역을 해 주셔서 감사합니다. 제가 이제는 전임 대표로서 그를 힘이 닿는 대로 잘 동역하며 우리 모임이 계속하여 사랑의 공동체로 성장해 나아가도록 기도하겠습니다. 우리 모임이 2041년까지 10만 선교사를 파송하는 선교공동체로 쓰임 받도록 계속 기도하겠습니다.

다시 한 번 여러 분들의 기도와 사랑을 깊이 감사드립니다.
