On July 3, 2022, A*braham Vlad, the A*braham of Kyiv Center, passed away from a heart attack. It was even more heartbreaking because it happened in a situation where A*braham Vlad and M*aria Marzan and their two children, J*an and D*aniel, were scattered because of the war. On July 5th, the funeral was gracefully held in Rakhiv, led by Sh. Jacob Vladimir of Kyiv. Co-workers from Kyiv and Odessa, as well as co-workers from each region and Europe were in attendance. A*braham Vlad was born on March 15, 1971, and started studying the Bible in 1993 while attending the Department of Electronic Physics at Kyiv University. Through Isaiah 53:4-6, he repented and deeply accepted Jesus as the Savior. In June 1996, he formed a house church of faith with M*aria Marzan and raised two sons, J*an and D*aniel. And for the past 28 years, he has devoted himself humbly and faithfully to Kyiv UBF and the gospel work of Ukraine. Now we thank the Lord for calling His servant in His time and giving him rest in the eternal kingdom of God. We pray earnestly that the Lord may comfort M*aria (his co-worker who reamins on this earth) and her two children, and that she will inherit the legacy of her faith in the hope of heaven, overcome her difficulties with faith, and serve the will of the Lord.

The following is an excerpt from a letter of thanks written by M*aria Marzan:

My dear brothers and sisters, I don't know why this happened all of a sudden. The Lord has made that decision. I can only say one thing. Abraham, he was the great Abraham. He had a great, compassionate heart and was a true father and shepherd to many. Being his wife was a great gift from God and I am grateful for it. Last year we celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary together. Because he knew how to love with God's love, I can testify that life with him was a great happiness. I will miss him very much. We will miss him very much. But I am comforted that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. And we will meet him again in God's time. Thank you for your prayers.

Abraham Blad (1971-2022) in K*yiv UBF, U*kraine has passed on to glory at the age of 51. He began to study the Bible in 1993 during his college years. He is an ancestor of faith in K*yiv chapter and had devoted his life to serve the campus ministry for 28 years. He leaves behind his wife Maria and sons Yan (22) and Daniel (18). The cause of death was heart stoppage. The funeral was held in western U*kraine on July 5 and this coming Sunday, July 10th, there will be a special commemoration service. Please pray for the remaining family members and brothers and sisters in K*yiv ministry to look up to Jesus and have resurrection faith and living hope in the kingdom of God.
