The Homecoming Ceremony of M. Esther Chung was held on Dec. 10th at the Chicago UBF center. Many guests from the Chicago area and North America joined the ceremony in person. Also, many coworkers from the world watched the ceremony online to participate in the grief of her family members and friends. P. Ron Ward delivered an encouraging message with the hope on the kingdom of God based on 1 Cor 15:22, "So, in Christ, all will be made alive."

Dr. Jose Ahn, M. Esther Kim (daughter of M. Esther Chung), and M. Rebecca Choi shared heart-moving eulogies. P. Joshua Lee, Dr. John & M. Sara Jun gave pre-recorded video eulogies, remembering the beautiful life of faith and mission of M. Esther Chung. M. Maria Ahn and Shep. Anna Cho presented special songs. We could be filled with heavenly joy through the ceremony. We sent M. Esther Chung into the arms of God through a burial service the next day.

May God comfort Dr. Joseph Chung and his family members with heavenly joy and peace!

A most beloved woman of God, Missionary Esther Chung, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 5th at 4:00 a.m. She passed peacefully at her home in Chicago, surrounded by family members after a long battle with cancer. She was 81. She lived a most beautiful life. She dedicated her youth to Christ as one of the founding members of UBF in Korea. She was the first woman to marry by faith in UBF, when God established her family with Dr. Joseph Chung. Their marriage lasted 54 years. She accompanied her husband to the United States as a missionary in 1976. After retirement, they spent more than seven years in Uganda as missionaries before returning to the United States. Many people in Korea, the United States, and Uganda, as well as in other places, have been blessed through Esther's mission life, Bible teaching, and prayers.

In addition to her husband, Esther is survived by three children and six grandchildren: son Joseph Chung, Jr. (wife Rebekah; children Joseph and Joanne), daughter Esther Kim (husband Henry; children Joshua and Elizabeth), and daughter Ruth Wei (husband Michael; children Sophie, Elise).

A homecoming worship service will be held for M. Esther Chung on Friday, December 10th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Chicago center. It can be joined remotely, using the links. Esther will be buried on Saturday, December 11th, at 10:30 a.m., at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave., Des Plaines, IL 60016.
