Church History 2From the Reformation to the Present Day

The Church History course is designed to provide ministers with a working knowledge of the major themes, issues, and people of church history and to make use of the rich resources of church history in our practice of ministry. This course (Church History 1) is a survey of the development of the Christian church from the Reformation to the present day.  It covers major events, issues, people, and ideas that shaped the life and doctrine of the Christian church. The course will provide an examination of church history from an evangelical, ecumenical perspective.

Bible Doctrine 2Christ, Salvation, the Holy Spirit

Bible Doctrine course is designed to provide gospel workers/Bible teachers with a sound understanding of biblical faith based on biblical and evangelical theology. This course (Bible Doctrine II) covers the major themes of Christian faith: Christ, Salvation and the Holy Spirit. Each theme will be approached beyond general information and reflected on biblical and historical aspects, and on practical applications.  Our prayer is that we can grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior and be better equipped as ministers of Christ. Instructors are Dr. Augustine Suh and Pastor Kevin Albright.

Christian Leadership: Identity, Interest, Insight, Integrity and Influence

A primary objective for the course is to understand and develop lifelong Christian leadership practices based on biblical texts and relevant leadership literature.  Six themes of leadership practices focus on identity, interest, insight, integrity and influence. In examining these essential elements of leadership, writings of Christian leaders (e.g., Reinhold Niebuhr, Paul Tournier, John Stott, Billy Graham, Gordon McDonald, Eugene Peterson) and general leadership literature (Classic work of William Shakespeare, Machiavelli, Peter Drucker, and Doris Kearns Goodwin) are chosen. Illustrations cover biblical characters (e.g., Abraham, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, Gideon, Samson, Samuel, David, and Paul) and memorable leaders (e.g., Charles Simeon, Nelson Mandela, Abraham Lincoln, King Sejong, Yoo Seongyong, and Lee Soonshin).  Regular on-line meetings, quizzes, and essays are required. Instructors: Dr. Paul Hong and TBD.

Each class has a capacity of 12 students. Each course work includes reading books/lecture notes, taking quizzes, online meetings, interacting online with other students and instructors through the discussion forum, and writing short essays. All courses will be offered through the online platform on CouseSites.com.

Forthcoming new courses: Christian Counseling 2 (Summer 2021), Cross-cultural Communication and Mission 1 (Fall 2021)
