Dr. William Kim, the director of BSD UBF in Indonesia, has published his first collection book of poems in Korea. Dr. William is the first poet of UBF selected from the nationwide poetry contest held by The Korea Forest Literature Association in 2020. The poem that brought to him the first place from the contest is “Papaya Tree”. You may want to take a look at the videos made in UBF.

William Kim
Long ago, beneath the old veranda
Rests a well-established Papaya tree
It is as though a mother were
breastfeeding numerous children at once
Countless days of a dry spell
With a sizzling midday heat, like a burning hearth
Lightning strokes of the rainy season
With ten million raindrops battering the earth
As she waits for the clear sky
She holds her fruits tight against her bosom
