GOD HAS LAID A FOUNDATION OF DISCIPLESHIP MINISTRY

Daniel Cho

God has laid a foundation of discipleship ministry. “But whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night.” (Psalm1:2)  In 2017 God has laid a foundation of raising disciples in our ministry. God moved Shepherdess Eunjin Kang’s heart to actively participate in campus evangelism every Saturday since she was raised as a campus shepherdess. Through the Saturday evangelization God brought Sanghyun Lee, Yongwon Cho and Doa Kim to us and they are growing as disciples through faithful to one to one and attendance to our Sunday worship service.  God also sent Sh. Eunjin’s class mate Hyunyeol Lim. He has also been faithful to one to one Bible study and Sunday worship service as a disciple.

I. World mission

From January 20-29, 2017 Shepherdess Hannah Cho, Eunjin Kang and Deborah Cho participated in the Uganda healing mission trip. During the healing mission they served at Pharmacy & Dentist clinic and refuge center sharing God’s love and learned about the God of Uganda. Especially Shepherdess Eunjin experienced God’s provision through her earnest prayer when she needed financial support to participate in the healing mission trip to Uganda.

First, fellowship with M. Deborah Jung of Botswana. M. Deborah Jung of Botswana came to visit us often because her parents’ home is near our center. We could have a good fellowship with her whenever she came to visit her parents’ home.  We thank God for the work of God in Botswana UBF, increasing the number of Sunday Worship attendees up to 10 despite their financial difficulty and for their growing disciple’s common life in Christ.

Second, Missionary Andrew and Grace Moon of Perm, Russia.  On January 1, 2017 M. Grace Moon joined our Sunday Worship Service and had a good fellowship with us in eating Korean traditional soup together. On November 3 Missionary Andrew Moon also came to visit us having good fellowship together. On August 3 sister Lena of Perm UBF who is growing as a disciple came to visit our center. We had a good fellowship together with her through praying and sightseeing at the beach of Haeundae and Gwangalli. Sister Naja who had participated in Bible study with us when she was studying language at Busan university of foreign studies for six months. She has maintained good fellowship with our three sisters through Skype.

Third, Bible Korea. The foundation of discipleship ministry; my wife and I along with my daughters Deborah and Hannah and Eunjin have been faithful every to our Saturday 2:00pm campus evangelization. We continually went to the campuses of Pusan Univ of Education, Pusan University, Dong-eui University inviting students. God blessed us with many faithful students such as Sanghyun Lee from Dong-eui University, Yongwon Cho from Busan University of Education. Yongwon Cho has been growing through faithful one to one, attending fellowship meetings and the worship services. We also invited sister Doa Kim to our worship services from Busan University and Hyunyeol Lim who has a great desire for Jesus responded to Eunjin Kang’s invitation to our ministry and growing in Jesus.

II. Bible conferences

Through the Korea UBF National Student Conference on February 7-10, 2017 Hannah Cho and Deborah Cho received much grace and they also shared Jesus’ redemptive love at the meeting through their talent show. Our spring, Summer and fall conferences were held along with Busan UBF.  Hyunyeol Lim and Sanghyun Lee came to join the spring conference. At the summer conference Shepherd Daniel Cho delivered a graceful message with God’s redemptive love, “Father forgive them for they do not know what they are doing” from Luke 23. Hyunyeol Lim who is studying nursing and Yonghyun Cho who is preparing the college entrance exam shared their sincere testimonies and all the students willingly participated in the musical drama.

Our fall conference was based on Hebrews 11 at Ulju Benegol which was surrounded by the beautiful autumnal colors. Yongwon Cho shared his sincere life testimony and by faith Doa Kim joined the conference giving up her plans to attend the fireworks festival at Gwangalli.

III. Fellowship meetings

Throughout 2017 our shepherds took turns in leading the fellowship group Bible studies with an absolute attitude and were greatly encouraged. Especially Yongwon Cho and Eunjin Kang confessed that they were greatly encouraged through leading the Bible studies.

As a lay shepherd to deny myself every day was a great struggle. But by the grace of God I could participated in early morning prayer and could do well at my job at the Busan University of Education maintain an average of two to four one to ones, serve Wednesday group Bible studies, Thursday fellowship meetings, Saturday campus evangelization and Sunday message preparation. God blessed our ministry with Yongwon Cho and Doa Kim as growing disciples as the fruit of our evangelization. However I couldn’t finish my plan of reading the entire Bible last year. I pray that God enable me to have early morning intercessory prayer, daily bread, meditating on the word of God and finish reading the entire Bible in 2018 depending on Psalm 1:2 and prepare Sunday message as well, inviting new students and raising one Abraham of faith.
