“Those who are wise will shine like the stars for ever and ever”

On Jan29-Feb1 Korea UBF held its national student conference with the theme “Those who wise will shine like the stars for ever and ever”(Daniel12:3) at Cheongpung Resort at Jechun, Korea. Total 260 (including 20 freshmen) attended from 40 local chapters. There 7 local chapters newly joined the conference.

1. The Powerful words of God deeply touched in the hearts of the students through the messages.

The messengers were as follow:

• Sh. Yongseok Kim (Main lecture 1 - Yong-in UBF) “Those who wise will shine like the stars for ever and ever” (Daniel 12:3)
• Sh. Francis Lee (Main lecture 2 - Chungju UBF) “By Believing his blood” (Romans 3)
• Sh. Choongsin Han (Main lecture 3 - Gwangju 1,6 UBF) “Daniel’s resolution”(Daniel 1)
• Sh. Paul Moon (Morning devotion 1 - Youngnam UBF) ”Seek first his kingdom” (MT 6)
• Sh. Mark Gu (Morning devotin 2 - Gwangju3 UBF) ”Daniel’s prayer” (Daniel 6)
• Sh. John Kim (Special message 1 - Inje UBF) “For what, so what”
• Sh. Abraham Suh (Special message 2 - Asan UBF) “4th Industrial revolution and Bible centered life”

Depend on the messages most of students wrote their testimonies among them 20 students were recommended to share but just 10 students shared their sincere testimonies with decision to be campus shepherds who will shine Jesus’s light on the campus at the meeting due to the time limit. Among them Joseph Kang who came from Japan UBF made a decision to pioneer one of Japan campus as a second gen missionaries in the future. And Hayoung Suh (freshman) from Ansan UBF also made a decision that she will bring many students so that Ansan UBF center to be full of students.

2. Graceful life testimonies

There 8 students shared their life testimonies with clear calling & identity as campus shepherds . Among them 3 were second gens and the rest were all 5 who were transformed through Bible studies. Mari Kang(sophomore) declared that she is ready to suffer martyrdom as missionary in the future. And Joon-su Park (sophomore) also made a decision that he will devote to God as a full time shepherd in the future.

3. Talent show was highly upgraded and graceful

There were:

• Cheer leading performance by Gwangju 1,6 UBF
• Drama by Anam 1 UBF 
• Mono drama by Choonchun & Anam 2 UBF
• Drama by Kyounsung UBF
• Rap song performance by Hanyang UBF

Especially the Dramas & Monodrama were well revealed about the word “Those who are wise will shine like the stars for ever and ever” based on lecture 1 Daniel 12:3. Through this we refreshed our hope & vision for campus ministry.

And we also learned about challenging spirit and prayer spirit through the conference.

We give thanks and praise to God for richly blessing 2018 Korea UBF national student conference with new hope & vision for campus ministry. We pray that the Lord may continue to bless and use all attended students to shine Jesus’ light on the campus as bright stars in heaven for his name’s sake.
