GOD HAS BLESSED UGANDA MINISTRY FOR 25 YEARS!

“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger." -Luke 2:11, 12-

1. Introduction

Praise God for a wonderful 2017 Christmas Worship Service we held on 10th December 2017 at Kyambogo University UBF Chapter Bible Centre. Our theme was, “He is Christ the Lord” (Luke 2:11). The Service was combined with dedication of Kyambogo University UBF Chapter Bible Centre and thanksgiving for 25 years of Uganda UBF. There were a little over 120 attendants from Kyambogo University UBF Chapter, Makerere University UBF Chapter, Rwanda UBF (M. Daniel and M. Rebecca, 7 brothers and 1sister), Kenya UBF (Sh. N. Otieno), and a few neighbors.

2. 2017 Christmas Worship Service

It was a bright Sunday morning! God raised Sh. Daniel K (from Kyambogo University UBF Chapter) as Presider. Our spirit-filled praise and worship was led by a joint choir from Makerere University and Kyambogo University UBF. Sh. Abraham O. from Makerere University UBF made the representative prayer. A special song was presented by Shepherd candidates from Kyambogo University called the “Timothy Team”. The message titled, “A baby in a manger” based on Luke 2:1-20, was gracefully delivered by Sh. Kenneth K from Kyambogo University UBF Chapter. Through the message, we received the good news of a savior born to us, who is Christ the Lord. Jesus came to save us from our sins, and to give us a glorious hope in the Kingdom of God. Through his sign, which is a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger, we learnt Christ’s humility. We also recognized Jesus’ earthly ministry and indeed God’s work in Uganda, as a “manger” ministry. May God bless his manger work in Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya UBF!

3. Dedication of Kyambogo University UBF Chapter Bible Centre

M. Livingstone (from Makerere University UBF Chapter), dedicated the Bible Centre through words of faith and prayer. Representative prayers were also made by Sh. Julius (Kyambogo University UBF), Sh. Steven (Makerere University UBF) and Sh. Otieno (Kenya UBF). May God bless Kyambogo University UBF Chapter Bible Centre to be a prayer house not only for Kyambogo University, but for all campuses in Uganda and Africa and for all nations!

4. Thanksgiving for 25 years of Uganda UBF

We gave thanks to God for Uganda UBF@25! Sh. Margaret M. S (from Makerere University UBF), who was M. Mary’s sheep from 1995, and Sh. John, S (from Kyambogo University UBF) who was M. Samuel’s sheep from 2007, shared heart-moving life testimonies. M. Samuel’s testimony, which challenged us to live like kernels of wheat was read for him by Sh. Daniel (the presider). We had a delicious cake prepared for the occasion. Chapter leaders - M. Livingstone and Sh. Steven (Makerere University UBF), M. Daniel (Rwanda UBF), Sh. Otieno (Kenya UBF), and Sh. Julius and Sh. Kenneth (Kyambogo University UBF) cut the cake on behalf of us all. As we cut and served the cake, Makerere University UBF Choir sung a special thanksgiving song. After that, Sh. Gerald (Kyambogo University UBF) made announcements. We had a group photo and, then lunch together. May the name of the Lord be praised forever. May the Holy Spirit empower us to continue the gospel pioneering work in campuses around the country and continent, until the gospel is preached to the ends of the earth.

Prayer requests for Kyambogo University UBF: Please, pray for Sh. Isaac, Br. Isaac, Sh. John, Sh. Gerald and Sh. Barbara to establish exemplary house churches. Pray also for us to raise 3 student shepherds.
