A THANKSGIVING FESTIVAL WITH CLASSIC & JAZZ

Joshua Lim

The 2017 Korea UBF Second gen Orchestra music concert was held on Thanksgiving Day, November 22nd with the  theme “A Thanks giving festival with Classical & Jazz” at Sowol art hall in Seoul Korea. During the preparation of the music concert we earnestly prayed for our music concert to be a successful thanksgiving festival to the Lord, based on Psalm 136:1 “Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good. His love endures forever.”

<Joshua Lim>

We thank God for answering our earnest prayers for his blessings. The music concert was blessed and was filled with his grace, tenderness, and joy in all attendee’s hearts. We played S. Rachmaninoff's Piano Concerto No. 2 in the first song. This song was composed by Rebecca Jang herself as a pianist. She performed it with touching music amid her busy schedule of her graduate school study. Despite her busy schedule and her heavy load of her graduate studies the people were moved by her musical performance.

The second song was a Jazz trio with Comfortable and light jazz performed by shepherds who studied jazz in Korea, The Netherlands and in the United States.

As the third song we performed of A. Dvorak's Symphony No 9 from the new world.

It was a tremendous challenge for our orchestra to perform the entire symphony. However, during the preparation, the performers gathered and practiced the music with all their hearts, praising God every week for three months. The 4th song titled, “Oh Happy Day” was performed joyfully. Then the UBF Choir sang the concert theme song, "Thank Jehovah."

<Chorus>

God is worthy to receive all the glory, honor, thanks and praise from all the people of the world for he is a great God, the maker of heaven and earth. He is pleased when we give thanks and praise to God from all of our hearts and our bodies and we are also filled with great joy of heaven in his grace.
