Dr. John Jun

Nigeria is a country with the largest population in Africa, about 190 million, and the only country in Africa to join OPEC. The capital city was recently moved to a city named Abuja which is located in the center of the country.

In regard to religion, Nigeria is composed of 49% Christian and 48% Islam. As a country in northern Africa, Muslims have been increasing in number due to the Muslim policy of expansion toward southern African countries. This is something to be apprehensive of for entire Christian communities around the world. In Nigeria, seldom do you see foreigners walking around on the streets because of safety issues.(Missionaries who participated in CME)

Nigeria UBF was pioneered by Missionary Peter Park and his family about 25 years ago. At that time he was a staff in the Korean Embassy in Lagos. God blessed his life-giving devotion more than a decade and three native shepherds were raised, Shepherd Fato as the director of Lagos 1, Shepherd Abraham for Lagos 2, and Shepherd Luth James for Lagos 3. Missionary Andrew and Rebecca Yoon pioneered the Yaba Tech chapter and after some years Shepherd Duke and his mother were appointed to be directors for Yaba Tech chapter. Now with four native shepherds, the campus ministry has been well established. In Nigeria, there is only one missionary family; they are Missionary Daniel and Susanna Hong. They serve in Yaba Tech UBF.(Dr. John Jun's message during Sunday Worship Service)

Our CME team had three consecutive days of Bible study with Missionary Daniel and Susanna Hong. On Sunday we had a united Sunday worship service with local chapters and Dr. John Jun delivered the message. Missionary Daniel Hong has been working in Samsung for many years. In his testimony he repented his sin of a divided heart and decided to live following the guidance of the Holy Spirit daily. (United Sunday Worship Service with brothers and sisters from Lagos and Yaba Tech)
